Captain's personal log, somewhere in the Nowegian sea...

Time. Time spent waiting. Engines off. The ticking clock. The gentle sway.

Time, stretches into the distance. We know it will end, it must end, but right now, we are all trapped in our own minds. In the face of every man aboard, I see myself reflected. I see fear, nerves, tension. For all their training, for all that their lives have been building up to this moment, they are afraid of what is to come. Time allows man to think, and he thinks his darkest thoughts.

But I see other things in their eyes. Determination, resolution, commitment. Like me, they know that to falter is to fail. They rely on one another, and knowing that the man next to him is as determined and committed as he is, gives them strength. Time allows man to confront his fears, to strengthen his resolve. My men are ready. They wait only for the fight.

Time spent waiting. It is a blessing, and a curse.

Welcome back, Dr. Zli! Hope all is well with the family. Since you've been gone I've been beside myself starting contests left and right to make up for the time without WW3. Heheh. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!
