Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

Ice-Fyre: Doubt it as they like to cash in on the add-ons for the Sims 3. The Sims 2 aint even on Steam :(

Shame really, as alot of people out there, don't have tip top pc's. Loads are 2nd hand or hand me down's. So EA and others are missing out, on cashing in on their old games

keeveek: Yeah, and I can't understand that behavior. Because it's easy money for devs, just to send master files to GOG and make money on it.

But the sims complete were released in one package in retail, so maybe...
I'd totally forgotten about Sims as an option if it's EA! I'd love them to release the full set for the first Sims game. I've got fond memories of losing hours of my life to almost every single Maxis game that came out.

Oh, they both end in 'arts'. Will the madness never end?

PCGameGuy: If I am reading the countdown timer text right, then in ~4 1/2 hours we will get the LOCATION where the big announcement will be. Since the post-it pretty clearly said E3, 2/6, LA it seems that we will find out that the announcement will be made at E3 in 4 days.

If this is right, then we have longer to wait to find out which publisher it is and it puts it smack in between my paydays. Since fate is cruel to me, I firmly believe that we have another half week of wailing and gnashing of teeth to go before we get an answer.
After their last hype on Spring Conference (with next wave of Atari games) they wouldn't do this to us.. would they?

They are going to get plenty of mileage out of the arts for the next few hours.
If its Lucasarts then i will be happy wih the star wars games (not an adventure fan so if they come ill be happy for others to play those adventure classics)

If its EA then there is so much good games there be hard not to get excited but i would love an ultima pack that would be me in heaven for months.

As for the other 3 microsoft i would love the Age of wonders games sheer class or freelancer.

Square enix is great for Deus Ex and Tomb raider be interesting to see what we get there

2K is only one i cant really be bothered about sure they got GTA but cant think of much else.

So ill be estatic if we get any bar 2k so i am waiting with great anticipation for the countdown to stop,

Might even have a glass of whisky ready at hand for the great news (i am scottish after all)
It's LucasArts. Which makes me very very happy.

Yeah, I'm most interested in both Arts, but 2k is a third option for me. Of course I have nothing against SE and Microsoft, but I want 2k more.

And I think we are at the point where first BioShock wouldn't be a surprise.

They also have Jade Empire, Prey, Call of Cthulhu, CivCity: Rome, Sid Meier's Pirates! & Railroads, Bioshock & Dungeon Siege II.
If its Square, could we maybe get Final Fantasy 7? It did come out on PC...

Or is Square Enix not the same Square? :-/ Surely a square is a square lol

It's not Square Enix. It is Lucasarts or Electronic Arts.
It's Lucas Arts. At least that's what I think and here is why.

The most clear clue is the code 'eee2/6LA' which is a place, date and subject description.
eee = Electronic Entertainment Expo or e3 (so they're going a little early)
2 / 6 = The 2nd of June (go the American silly date format)
which leaves the LA to stand for Lucas Art.

Additionally the lead-up promotion is littered with both subtle and otherwise references to Lucas Art's titles such as the following:-
- The parallel between the title of the comic and Indiana Jones titles.
- The parallel between depicting the movement of the GOG team on a map and the movement of Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones titles.
- The choice of the words 'FATE' (referring to 'the Fate of Atlantis), 'DOOM' (referring to 'Loom') and 'GRIM' (referring to 'Grim Fandango') in the promotional material.
- he similarities between the comic front page and the cover of the dig.
- In death the mad monk resembles a green tentacle this is a reference to 'Day of the Tentacle' and his dying pro-revolutionary words are a reference to 'Grim Fandango.'
- The three adventures with a antagonist of mad scientist is a reference to 'Maniac Mansion'.
- Dr. M twitted from DoomJedi referring to 'Star Wars'.
I'm also thinking it's LucasArts, but LA could just as well stand for Los Angeles, where the E3 is being held.
