Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

GameRager: Lol, unless you meant you'll buy them all on day 1?

Delixe: If the launch games are Ultima and Wing Commander then yes I will buy everything released on launch day. As will a legion of fans I suspect.
Are those the ones you want to come tomorrow the most? If so why? Just curious btw.

I was hoping it would be down to either LucasArts or EA. I'm rooting for LucasArts since I'm a huge fan of their adventure games, but I'd be happy with either. :)

Just hints I found poking around on the net leads me to believe Ultima and Wing Commander are the most likely.
What game made You dream of the stars?
What game made you go to the underworld?

whodares2: Secondly, now that EA has realized that there is money to be made on the PC with download services and are going to try to emulate Steam with their download manager I don't think GOG would be in their plan. They like control too much. Course that said, EA could also be the one because the realize that their is money to be made with download services and so they might want in everywhere they can get in.
You know, the problem is, EA's download manager is not as popular as GOG when we speak about old games.

Here almost everyone will be interesed in buying old EA titles, while on EA store most people won't bother, because old games are too complicated or graphics are not cool.

Same twith Steam - old games are not bestsellers, most Steam users want new games.

And GOG has pretty nice user base and everyone here is interested in old games.

Haha so true.
Oh, my God, if it's Lucasarts I think I'm gonna have a heart attack! Ugh, too late!

Thanks, thanks!
Why, Delixe, aspiring to be a rapper?;P

Can't wait for someone to say StarWars and Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade fit the bill, and throw me off my pony (polish idiom i guess).;)

[and yeah, Deja Vu (with Uninvited and Shadowgate bundled) are MORE THAN WELCOME, GOG! :)]
Really, I'd like it to be LucasArts just so I could get my hands on INDY: The Action Game. :(

Delixe: Even if EA plan to release their older games on other services when has that ever stopped GOG getting in there first? We had Fallout exclusively then it appeared on Steam. We had Baldur's Gate exclusively then a little while later it appeared on Impulse. EA let GOG do all the work in exchange for limited exclusivity then they get to sell those game everywhere else they want to. Win Win.
Fair point. That does sound like something that EA would do. I still remember some of the press releases of the CEO of EA and his stance on DRM. I hope that GOG has been able to change his mind as I would love to play System Shock and Ultima and a number of others.

Also a fair point. I do, of course, hope to see their catalogue here, no question. I would just LOVE to see LucasArts here. So many good games....drool.

17 hours is a few?
Regarding the comic. Isn't LA = Los Angeles kind of redundant considering the E3 part? I don't think there's a bunch of E3's to choose from. There's also the fact that it is Location, Date, Location (less specific) which is weird.

I think LA = LucasArts. Which could represent the contents of the announcement, a particular booth (does E3 have booths?) where Dr. M will be, or a presentation that might be interrupted by Dr. M (requires LA to have a presentation scheduled).

These break down to
1) Location, date, contents
2) Location, date, location (more specific)
3) Location, date, specific time and place

Of course this could all be over thinking it. I don't know what E3's tolerance for stunts is.
I'm going to fathom a guess and say its EA
here's my reasoning:
