Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

Vagabond: EA and LA would be...majestic.
I thought LA here means Los Angeles where they speak at the E3 (hence EEE 2/6 LA). But LA might also mean LucasArts...

Square Enix was ruled out already...it's down to EA and LA now.

Detlik: I joined wpegg cult of Grim avatars :) . He helped me choose it in recommend avatar thread.
If I didn't already belong to a German Shepherd Dog cult I'd be right in there with you choosing an avatar from the-best-game-ever. Grab it as soon as you can. (On Thursday.)

Taleroth: EnigmaticT hinted that it's not going to be as exciting as System Shock.
It's not System Shock... yet. It's a foot in the door with EA and that's what counts. If their games sell well on GOG they can be persuaded to open the cookie jar a little more. We got some Atari games and then we got more, we got some Ubisoft games then we got more. I firmly believe we are only getting the Origin games for starters. Consider it EA dipping their toes in the market.

So if EA what would you hope for and possibly instabuy and/or what do you think they'll release first?

I think this 25+ list of games would be a good start

I meant a more narrow list, personal to you....also SS is on that list and we know it's not that title...yet. ;)
I'm thinking it's LA. They have stated just after releasing games on Steam that they were looking at other digital distributers also.

Secondly, now that EA has realized that there is money to be made on the PC with download services and are going to try to emulate Steam with their download manager I don't think GOG would be in their plan. They like control too much. Course that said, EA could also be the one because the realize that their is money to be made with download services and so they might want in everywhere they can get in.

Nope, I think it is going to be LucasArts.
Probably LucasArts, KotOR I & II. \o/

I said it was Origin and that's their list of games. We know System Shock isn't a launch game we don't know yet if it's a signed game the chances are it is but they want to launch with something to really draw the crowds. Going by various tweets over the last few weeks I suspect it's going to be Wing Commander and Ultima and I also suspect you will be surprised by the price. I don't want to say anything more because if i'm right then it will spoil the surprise won't it?

Even if EA plan to release their older games on other services when has that ever stopped GOG getting in there first? We had Fallout exclusively then it appeared on Steam. We had Baldur's Gate exclusively then a little while later it appeared on Impulse. EA let GOG do all the work in exchange for limited exclusivity then they get to sell those game everywhere else they want to. Win Win.

Yes, but I wanted to know what5 games you wanted them to drop here first.....not the entire list. Lol, unless you meant you'll buy them all on day 1?

If the launch games are Ultima and Wing Commander then yes I will buy everything released on launch day. As will a legion of fans I suspect.
