Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

Scoring either Lucas Arts or EA is a big deal. I'm really wishing it were tomorrow already!

mistermumbles: That'd be great... and then maybe C&C, Theme Park, Wing Commander... I really hope it's going to be EA as they have a much bigger variety and number of archived titles.

LA has always been a bit more one-sided with its adventures and Star Wars games. Not that they're bad games - far from it - but I definitely prefer variety.

Detlik: Yeah and mainly you can find most of LA games on steam and other shops, but you wont find System shock anywhere else then auction or illegal sites.
EnigmaticT hinted that it's not going to be as exciting as System Shock.

And the only old adventure games you can find of LA are Indiana Jones, the first two monkey islands, Loom, and Dig.

Monkey Island 3, Full Throttle, Sam and Max, and even Grim Fandango are really hard to find. If you know where I can reasonably find Day of the Tentacle, I'd be delighted to hear it.

EA vs Lucasarts...

Whoever wins... We win! \o/
Really, EA or LucasArts? Either one would be absolutely amazing, but I think I would prefer EA -- I'm a huge fan of LucasArts, but I already own many of their games from back in the day, and most of them still run perfectly thanks to DosBox and ScummVM.

In any case, I'm cautiously optimistic that tomorrow will finally bring the actual confirmation (and maybe even the first games). So let's hope that the announcement will not be another letdown.

With Glottis as your avatar? Destiny awaits.
EA and LA would be...majestic.
Is Dr.M. the Purple Tentacle in disguise???? (a hint maybe haha)

Vagabond: EA and LA would be...majestic.
Crossing my fingers that both publishers being signed is the big surprise. :)

Either way, I'm stoked!
You know, I said I wouldn't get very hyped, but the fact that it's now been narrowed to EA or Lucas Arts... I'm looking forward to tomorrow. The rest of the day is going to draaag on.

GameRager: Doesn't mean anything as they have other titles they could release here.
avatar
Gonadius: ... So you're saying that that you believe EA would go to the effort and expense of getting some of their older games up to scratch to sell and not others? Your outta yer tree laddie.
Nope......with how they've handled their IPs so far it fits they'd do something quite as irrational this time too.
EA and Lucasarts at once would be the Ultimate Win of Ultimate Destiny.

But don't get excited yet. They might just announce that the publisher will be revealed with a new game being released the other thursday, and keep teasing us all the way.

They've just done something like this....

He could just mean that they're releasing here but not necessarily giving us System Shock for some reason(needs compatibility work/etc).
