Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

The tracker works!!! We've managed to eliminate the first location.
If The Witcher taught me anything, it's how to triangulate a position.
So this is NOT square enix. 4 more to go.
That means one of the 5 company games come to GOG? LucasArts or MS will be great, Star Wars (hope with musics) and AoE series. Or 2K with SystemShock? I never played them, sadly. SquareEnix with the all old Tomb Raider! I don't know any familiar old EA title, the CC the oldest C&C game are already free... well, a few.

So, it was a trap. I wouldn't be surprised if we will see the French monk again.
Also, what are you doing in Papua New Guinea?

Rights to systemshock are now in Electronic Arts hands, as far as I know.
Microprose?

EDIT: ah didn't see the mention of the five publishers.

The next location to be eliminated will surely be the single northernmost, which I presume stands for Microsoft, although it seems more in Canada that in Washington. This would leave the three California companies: EA, 2K, LA. I still stand by my LA guesstimate, although I'd really prefer one of the other two.

UPDATE:
The three California companies are located:
- 2K: Novato, ~50km north of San Francisco
- LucasArts: San Francisco
- Electronic Arts: Redwood City, ~40km south of San Francisco
I wouldn't be surprised at all if the next to go after Microsoft would be 2K, leaving EA and LA.

I think only EA and LA have number of games large enough to be THE BIGGEST addition to the gog.com catalogue.
Hmmm, Microsoft. Crimson Skies, Freelancer, Rise of nations, Fable... Mechwarriors?

I would like to see that. On GoG.

Starlancer, the Neverhood... would be great, but i doubt it.

filmboy85: My vote's for all five... it sounds ridiculous, yes, but they already said they have more than 25 games prepped to come out, plus they used the logos, and if I was a major publisher that hadn't signed a deal with a company I would not want them using my logo (even if they asked for permission). Anyways, if not then why would they choose these five companies? It's not like there aren't other publishers that haven't signed up. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I think all 5 would be a serious prospect.
agreed, sadly not now

I know it seems lame, but I'd love to see No One Lives Forever and no one Lives Forever 2.
Kind of off-topic, but it's really funny that in the last comic it seems the "Apple" notebook says that we need to track him down ;-) That's not a coincidence, or not...
