Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

If it's EA then the first game is surelly System Shock and the last System Shock 2.

To follow past releases structure, that is.

Kakihara: If they're going for the whole "zoom in on the map a bit more every day" then Square Enix is out of the picture because it would immediately be the only option if the zoom leans to japan....

Dammit :(

GameRager: What if they cut the map in half and put japan next to the west coast. ;)
Thanks for trying man :(

The full LucasArts catalogue is rife with games unreleased since its original release, so it would definitely be consided the biggest news yet.

Save_The_Lost: It would be AMAZING if GOG actually was able to sign all of these developers, but that's a little bit of a stretch to think that...
Well, if I was one of these five companies and was not in any discussions with GOG, I would be none too pleased with my logo being used on that countdown in this fashion, even if it does get removed eventually if the map 'zooms in' as was suggested.

Here's hoping GOG is not that dumb, legally.

This is also backed up by the fact that SIX of the top ten most wanted games on the "defunct" GOG wishlist (http://www.gog.com/en/wanted/) are LucasArts games:
- The Secret Of Monkey Island
- The Curse Of Monkey Island
- Full Throttle
- Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
- Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis
- Grim Fandango
Pity I don't like adventures...

I'm guessing GOG got permission to use them for this contest/puzzler.

Cook: ...
I have suggestion for part 5.

I think Coala should turn herself into Werecoala, and she should use here sense of smell (I checked, Coalas have great sense of smell and hearing, so Werecoalas sense of smell should be very powerful) to track down Dr. M by the smell of French Monk's ashes, which Dr. M inhaled.

That would be something completely GOG-style.. slowly zooming on the West Coast only to go past it on the last day and point to Japan ;)
I think it is EA.
Potion "Get Bigger" take part in the novel of Lewis Carroll."Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
And EA made "American McGee's Alice."
It doesnt neccesarily have to be EA. The biggest GOG anouncement AS OF YET. I would rule out Lucas Arts and Microsoft Game Studios. That leave us with 2k, Square Enix & EA. EA has a HUGEEE catalogue, but so does Square Enix since they have Eidos and Crystal Dinamix (Tomb Raider, Gex, Legacy of Kain anyone?). Then with 2k the problem is that, is NOT OLD (formed on '05). They have Firaxis of the Civilization series though and Irrational of System Shock 2. Then EA has a OMG THIS IS BIG list of sagas (NFS, Tycoons, etc). However during in the late ninetis, early twenties they didnt have much of OMG awesome games. I would settle on, either 2k or Square. Also due to the economical dificulties that Square is going through, they might need even more sales and, as Eidos was an awesome publisher, my bet is on them.
EA admiting that DRM sucks would be one of the biggest news.:D

godspeeed: Oh yeah it looks like there is a dot in Canada.. Maybe Kamloops or Vernon.. We don't have electricity or Internet, we live in wooden lodges yet we develop video games.

Props.
It'd be Vancouver...gaming industry is pretty big there. EA has a Canadian office there...
Okay, the world map in the background is from Uplink. I doubt that Introversion Software would be the biggest announcement GOG ever made...

Bah, you're telling me you can tell a generic world map as being from a certain game?

Why are you ruling out MGS? Their game catalog is crammed full of products held dear to several gamers. Personally, I would love to see any of these studios get added to the GoG list of offerings, but MGS and EA would be the ideal for me.

Also, was I the only person who got pangs of Syndicate in the last two panels on page 1?
