Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

SLP2000: This

It could be EA only if there are problems with SS running on modern systems or some legal issues.
Well, if it's one of the five they mentioned and its not EA or Square/Eidos, then I guess I would assume... Take Two? All the Rockstar games and Civ games and other such things would be a good catch.
Oh, I was SO hoping Eidos/Square Enix. For DX too of couse, but we can buy at Steam.

I really was hoping to see Anachronox on GoG. That woulbd be awesome, a dream come true...
"What grim future is coming to GOG.com?"

Grim Fandango!
Could it be Splinter Cell...................???????

Or not :P
I would be damn happy if it was LA,Ea or Square/Eidos. Take Two and Microsoft make nothing that interest me or I don't already own.Since I own all the gta games and rts and flight sims don't interest me those are though I could care the least about. But at least someone would be happy to see those sign on. I don't why everyone says system shock 2 or the thief games are a pain to get working since I find them incredibly easy to get working and I got a 64-bit windows 7 and anyone in the same boat can vouch that 64-bit can be a pain in the @$$.But if we get Lucasarts and Square\Eidos then that will be some good times had by many, including myself. I have such fond memories of outlaws and other lucasarts games that a pain to get working or you can't get anywhere. Personally I would just love a break from all the rts releases.

Vitek: Maybe DRM is coming to this site...
Mwahahahahahahahahahaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
it sounded like Doom, or ID stuff, but I don't think that could be it, because i think like EVERYONE already owns all those ID games.

besides, even if you buy any ID or Quake engine games off of Steam, you are better off just playing them with Zdoom or Darkplaces, which are 100% DRM-free anyway, you just move the WAD files from your Steam folder and that's it.

they said this would be exciting, so I really doubt it will be ID stuff. GOG is run by real PC gamers that would know about all of the ID game emulators out there and also the fact that the majority of gamers already own them.

the other good guess i heard was Grim Fandango, which would be awesome. unfortunately for me, i bought that the day it came out and still own it. (along with every other Lucasarts adventure) i have also played them all through about 20 times!
but that would be seriously great for all the people who haven't played them yet, or even only played them once!

My crystal ball says:
"... dzzt... grrk pEk! ... grrk dzzt... DUNGEON KEEPER ... dzzt FizZ! dzzt..."

But it also did foretell "Deus Ex" about the last gog release. I don't trust it so much...

How effing cool is that! I'm gonna do the same, as soon as humanity learns to bend and fold time and space. Go go LHC!;)
And many times? Now that's just way too cool. When so many people never even heard about Pentagram, here's a guy who's seen them a lot.
I mean WOW! Just don't tell me, it was in the 70s, that'd be way too awesome.
[yea, now You're like an astronaut to a 7 year old, epic]
Is it just me or does the first line seem similar to insult sword fighting?

Plus, the tracking device sort of reminds me of the intro to The Dig, like you can see in the attached screenshot.

Using a tracking device to locate a secret base... Killing an incompetent minion... Both could hint at Star Wars (LucasArts; this fits with the possible clue to Grim Fandango).

Star Wars: Dark Forces

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Does that mean I am going to spend a lot of money on Gog.com? Again?
I don't have enough money as it is... :(
