is it just me or is it MEGA slow .... usually all my downloads take bugger all
but im new here and just purchased 2 games and they are taking forever....

any info ? i even have the gog downloader ...

All my downloads have been fast (around 2.2 Mb/s). That is with the downloader, haven't tested it without it. Check in the downloader's settings if you have put a limit to your speed and make the number of concurrent connections to 1 so it all goes to single files and and splitting up between more.

I'm getting 400 kBps, which is pretty average for my internet where I live.
So, yeah, pretty average.

If your internet is suppose to be 3MBps and you're only getting 400 kBps, though, there might be something wrong.

I'm using the downloader and its downloading at 1.1 MB/s which is top speed for me. Seems like the problem might be your end.

Actually, if the concurrent connections is set to 1, it will only use 1 thread to download the game installer, which should be the same as if you've been downloading through the web browser, and I think it's something like 1MB/s at least. If your line can handle higher speeds, increase the number of concurrent downloads to double or triple the speed, until you reach your line's limit.

In case 1 connection from the downloader is slower than downloading through the browser, check your antivirus/firewall to see if they are blocking either the downloader or the CDN gog is using, which I can't recall atm.

Also, more than 1 connections only work (currently) with game installers, not with patches, bonuses or mac installers.

With the downloader it's working fine for me, too.

As you mentioned, you should try to restart your router and the modem.

Stop downloading porn at the same time. :P

Using CAPS LOCK is taking up a lot of bandwidth.

Yes, it probably wouldn't hurt to try that. Or you might try to download directly, without the GOG downloader. Just to crosscheck whether it is your connection or your downloader installation. I always use the direct download and always reach 2 - 3 MB/s. Sometimes even more than 3.

I usually use the GOG Downloader and I get all the max speed that my Internet bandwidth can do: 768 KB/s...
