While I would prefer to buy it from here I still think it's pretty sweet that one of the best (certainly the best Western) SHUMPs of all time is easily available again.
Raptor for those not in the know is a top down shooter that lets you chose stages and buy upgrades between missions. You fly trough nine separate sections of three stages and fight a boss at the end of every section, fairly typical stuff. It scores extra for letting you blow up any and all structures on the ground. It's a bit more relaxed than typical bullet hell games in the genre and very playable with a mouse. It was published by Apogee I think and holds up pretty well to this day. Certainly my favourite SHUMP.

E: SLP2000 noticed that Raptor will in fact show up here at GoG at some point. It wasn't in the list of upcoming games when I made this thread. Good news at any rate.

Nice. Thanks for the heads up.
If fucking low-profile shitty DotEmu (who?) gets it, why isn't GOG? That would be an instabuy from here, but I'm not buying from DotEmu.
Yet. I'll probably cave in sometime next week.
You've got the tuesday release to make it happen, GOG ...

DotEmu get it, because they are the publisher.
It's also on GamersGate by the way: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-RAPTOR/raptor-call-of-the-shadow-2010-edition

Yep saw that, cool stuff.

Even if it appeared here it would be about the same price and its already drm free so sod it im buying it there.
GG is a lot more expensive than dot emu, 9 quid is a bit much.
Oooh, thanks! Don't like to download golden oldies on any other site than GoG though :( Go go GoG! Get this one!
For those curious about the "enhanced graphics" it looks like this isn't actually an updated version of the game--they have simply enabled one of DOSBox's smoothing filters.
"No graphic card required"
Whoa, what a requirement :-D
... or not.

It seems DotEmu is starting to become a more serious competitor. Bad timing for GOG too, after far too many weeks with only one new release per week.
Interesting to note that the GamersGate-version is more expensive than the version from DotEmu. Which indicates that _if_ the game shows up here, it'll be $9.99.
It's more amazing that Mountain King actually did something for their old titles.
You guys really should check coming soon list...

Holy crap, you're right. And for $5.99....wow.
Wait... why is Raptor not under Apogee banner?
