You missed out there, mate. When they were starting up that game was one of the ones given away free on a certain day.

"Without DRM" is stated on every game's page. Oddly enough it's mentioned in the "3 simple steps to get your game" all of which have little to do with the method of acquisition.

I wonder if the delay in its release on GOG is due to the lack of a low enough price point? That's just under $4 after all.

The flexible pricing on DotEmu is certainly an advantage they have over GOG and probably the reason GOG are looking to introduce more price points. Although as expected some publishers IMO are abusing it. Tropico Reloaded for €14.99 is taking the piss.

It's also DRM-free and beside the old Silmaris games they sell some very good "newer" adventure-games like Post Mortem, Still Life, Journey to the moon, Mystery Island, Atlantis-series and especially the Broken Sword remake.
In comparison to other places (Microids-shop, Gamersgate) this games are really cheap, but unfortunately the webpage itself is really bad. You can't buy multiple games at the same time (shopping cart doesn't really work) and there is no forum.So I don't believe the site is not trustful, but they really need to fix some problems with the site. At the moment they are not really an alternative to Gog regarding selling the same games, but regarding above listed games they can complement Gog.

I have yet to purchase anything from DotEmu mostly because I'm satisfied with GOG's prices/selection and my backlog is already too large.
I do find it strange that I don't see a prominent display or mention of DRM free status of their games on their Home Page, on their FAQ Page or on their About Page. I see no reason for DotEmu to NOT loudly proclaim their games are DRM free. Because of this I suspect there are some games that do have DRM. Not worth my trouble to sort out which are or are not DRM free . . . if this is the case. There is the step 2 indication that the games are DRM free but I would prefer that it was plainly stated prior to purchase along with a description of DRM free. Doing a search of the website for "DRM" returned zero results.
Having the price in Euros is also a turn off. My CC company already charges me a fee for the foreign transactions at GOG using dollars. Are they going to charge a conversion fee as well? Just not worth the effort for me at present . . . =)

I don't know how much clearer they could be than putting "no DRM" on ever game page, Stuff.
I bought Broken Sword Director's Cut there and it was a smooth transaction... downloaded fast, installed quickly, no DRM. I don't have any kind of loyalty to GOG which stops me from getting a better deal somewhere else, or using another site for games not available here.
It's certainly competition, though they are behind in selection by quite a ways as of now. I hope that changes.

That's exactly why GOG have held back on the price points so far. They even stated as much. Generally the attitude seems to be: get as many titles on the site for as little as possible. Then be more flexible to get more.

Everyone pays in euro, so no problems for us europeans. For the foreigners it's like for us europeans on gog, the easiest payment way seems to be Paypal (sadly).

I do have loyalty to GOG . . but . . . I would like to have more sources. Publicly stating their DRM policy would go a long way towards convincing me to buy from DotEmu. It seems strange that their DRM policy is not spelled out and easy to access. Yes it says "DRM free" but I want to see what their understanding of "DRM free" is. I will buy games from them once I am convinced their idea of DRM free is the same as GOG's.

They sell also games for the iPhone, so maybe that's the reason they don't use the label "drm-free" for the whole site. And again, the site itself isn't very good designed and managed. Looking under credits you see they used a construction toolkit to build the page, so I guess they don't have a real programmer for the webpage.
I would not call it loyality, but there are some factors like the forum and the easy access that let me pay a little bit more than on other places. So, the Syberia games are with 6.30€ to 9.99$ a little bit cheaper on DotEmu, but with the other factors it's not a better deal for me. But if it comes to a real deal like all Ufo-games on gamersgate for 5€ (these days 2 drm-free, now all three), loyality is gone... (sorry gog).

I had not considered that. They do need to break it down on a DRM page to remove any confusion. I am all for competition but making their DRM policy (I still can't find it) difficult to find puts me in the "Wait and see" mode. Too many games here on GOG that I don't have and I know what DRM free means here on this site.

Nope. There's no dollar-price. Like GOG, the price is the same regardless of where you are.

It is indeed but . . . I rarely install games when I download them. I often buy several games at one time as well. I would have to remember to do the "trick" when I do an install (I have GOG games I bought 2 yrs ago without installing). A hassle that is not worth my time since it is not an issue with my GOG purchases.
I simply believe if a game is DRM free . . . I shouldn't need tricks.
I don't begrudge anyone buying GG games if they don't mind the "trick", it's just not for me . . . =) I do believe they will get around to fixing that loop hole . . . sooner or later.
Edit: Which brings us back to what is DotEmu's definition of DRM free? . . . =)
