It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I wrote a beginner guide to DOSBox (and D-Fend)... check it out here: http://game-central.org/2009/editorials/how-to-configure-use-dosbox/

Qbix: Feel free to post your findings here.
It has been a while since we released a new version and it has so many new things and small fixes. So it is possible that something doesn't work anymore or just suddenly works much better.
For daggerfall I happy to inform you that you can now start it properly and don't need to use the fall.exe z.cfg trick anymore.

POLE7645: Can you tell us where the capture folder is? I can't seem to find it.

Finally, the so much awaited new version :-D
Thank you for your work (and Harekiet's, wd's and the one of anyone involved) on this worthy project. Now expect news from my mailbox asap, you have excuses no more :-P
I also had to submit a bug I recently discovered in the RC1, but I don't made it in time.....
Tried it on a few games, and saw a noticeable difference in several. Especially Terminator: Future Shock showed some great framerate improvement, as well as shorter loading times.
Hmm, I should try this with Crusader: No Remorse. That used to be kind of choppy in DOSBox.

Arkose: If you have pointed your games to a centralised DOSBox location just point the 0.73 installer there.

Trying to re-install Duke 3D while pointing it to the central DOSBox 0.73 install resulted in the GOG installer complaining that DOSBox wasn't there, or was too old...

Apparently that's a bug in the GOG installer.
I guess they should make all DOSBox installers future-proof.
Here's a workaround until GOG addresses this problem:
1- Put the old DOSBox (0.72) back.
2- Install the GOG game of your choice and point to the right directory.
3. Install DOSBox 0.73 over the old 0.72 installation (to the same directory. (The old settings will be retained.)
4. Play.
I've gotten Dark Forces and TIE Fighter to run much, much faster now, even when using the hq2x filter. The game still won't recognize the iso as a disc, but running through a disc drive is fine too.

What I do is mount the ISO on Daemon Tools and then I mount the virtual CD-ROM in DOSBox using this command:
mount D W:\ -t cdrom
W is the drive letter in Daemon Tools, while D will be the drive letter in DOSBox.
Works like a charm.
NOTE: You can add that command to the end of your dosbox.conf file so it happens automatically every time you start DOSBox.

Does anyone know if there are any GOG games in particular that will noticeably benefit from this? I'm not particularly in the mood to upgrade all of them if it's not going to help and they seem to work well as it is.

What about the mouse axis disabling thing that I've constantly been nagging about?
EDIT:
Considering that there is some stuff for joystick axises, wouldn't it be possible to add the same thing for a mouse?

After installing DOSBox 0.73 over the 0.72 included on GOG's Duke Nukem 3D(with HRP), loading times are much reduced.
Before on DosBox 0.72, loading a level(with the hundreds of textures) can take more than 30 seconds.
Thanks for the suggestion, Csimbi.

Nope. Didn't add it.
