langurmonkey: I do not miss those days. Looking back, it is like ancient history. How did we survive on those 15 second porn clips?
Hornily.
I can understand Doom 3 + ROE getting removed (regardless if I like the decision or not) but why would Doom II master levels and Final Doom be removed?
Nevermind...

Because they are also included with the BFG edition, aren't they?

Final DOOM and Master Levels are not included with the BFG Edition. Just XBLA Doom and Doom 2, they probably left the original Doom and Doom 2 up so people could buy an uncensored copy. But it just makes you ask why they took down Final and Master Levels in the first place...

That is indeed just weird.
I got the BFG edition so we still can't install mods with it no way at all :(

F4LL0UT: Bethesda can go fuck itself.

grviper: Indeed.
I'm pretty sure this BFG edition will cost no more than Doom 3 did within 6 months, all new buyers from there on out will be getting a better edition. It's not really that bad of a thing.

StingingVelvet: If that is true watch D3 return as "D3 classic" or something,
One of the biggest marketing blunders, ever: the "New Coke"/"Coke Classic" fiasco. You would think that retail businesses would learn from such mistakes, but they don't seem to do so.

I already own all of the old Dooms, Doom 3 + ROE on steam and I rather not pay $20 for a few extra maps that aren't even that great. Maybe if this was $5 dollars for people who already own all of it but I rather it be free either way.

That was my feeling, $20 for something that I already own is absurd. They did update it a bit, but I can't imagine that it's worth $20, especially when the entire iD catalog has been on sale for about that.

It's really, really, really not for us. This is a console release, the original Doom 3 on Xbox was a terrible port. The only reason this is on PC at all is probably because people would have bitched if it wasn't.

I've never seen those two available for separate purchase, they were exclusive parts of id and Doom packs. Which were removed... Zenimax is run by monkeys.

Final Doom was always sold separately on steam, which makes sense as tnt.wad and plutonia.wad are iwads and therefore are able to run standalone. The master levels were included with every Doom 2 purchase on steam, not only with the Id Software or Doom Pack. This also makes sense, because the Master Levels require doom2.wad as an iwad.

Yep, Final DOOM was $10. Master Levels came with DOOM 2, so it acted as a $10 bundle of sorts.
