I liked it. Was a fun shooter.

Anyway, even if the standard version is censored, they will probably release a DLC that isn't available in Germany which fixes those. (Like Shogun 2)

lol I won't be buying it. Doom 3 wasn't the greatest game I have played and rebuying it just for better graphics isn't my thing.

Plus I could use that money on something new

I have Doom 3 already and while I like it, it's not that great that I would buy it multiple times.

The only reason for me to get it would be to get the first two Doom games legally.

That reminds me, I should remember to play the expansion pack at some point. I finished the base game a long time ago on a system that could barely run the game with ok visuals (otherwise it was pretty smooth at 800x600 resolution or so and pretty high details, but the end boss fight was quite jerky IIRC).

I guess I kinda left the expansion pack waiting for a PC upgrade. Quite a many years of waiting.

I guess I will buy it for 10$. Just to have for once a legal copy of the first DOOMs.

Doom 3 was one of the biggest disappointments to me. It's nothing like fun I had with original Doom / Doom 2.
To me Serious Sam is the game that inherited the spirit of classic Doom, and Doom 3 isn't worth its name.

I won't be pre ordering it but I will buy it at some point. Doom3 was a fantastic shooter and I am looking forward to seeing some of the adjustments made. Just to make a point to a poster, you can buy Doom legally off of steam. Its not cheap but it's there... assuming it won't bruise an ego using steam. ;)

You do realize that the 2 posters in this page wanting a legal classic doom are both in Germany, right? Weird censorship laws and all that.

That seems to gradually become a regular practice by publishers now to discourage Germans - the second largest video gaming market - from importing from abroad. Gearbox did it with Borderlands 2 and there are indications that Treyarch has done it with Black Ops 2 as well now. Looking at a number of US and UK gaming sites on this subject, doesn't look like Germany has made itself particularly popular in this regard.

Actually, the first two Doom games aren't on the index anymore, since Bethesda requested a re-evaluation (and with the BFG Edition, it's pretty clear why). However, I can't even use Steam, due to my horrible connection, so that's out.

Also, I seem to be the only person in existance who doesn't think that Serious Sam and Painkiller is like Doom.
