D'oh. Maybe they were hoping nobody would notice? Or perhaps they were just taking a page out of the Bethesda post-Morrowind level design workbook?

How low the mighty have fallen.
Um, yup. There goes my last reason to even consider buying this.

exactly, this is just pathetic...
This video proved my point that investing in the original Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil discs recently was better than waiting for this. Not only will I have the same game, but I can use the flashlight mod and when I get a better computer, utilize the graphics mods for it. But wait what about the classic Doom games? Already have them but I can always get them pretty cheap and have the cut content in tact, with the XBLA exclusive episode playable for PC as well.

The screenshots are nice but the homepage itself doesn't suggest anything spectacular. Some modders really need a lesson or two in selling their stuff (not literally selling).

I've made a short video of opening of the level that comes with the mod. It's two minutes. I believe you will be sold after that.

Is it really that good?

It has grabbed me as much as the original Thief games. Yes, it really is that good. So far it's mostly a toolset for fans to create maps in - but the toolset is utterly brilliant, with everything that Thief games ever had and then some. And now, an official map has finally came out and it's amazing - the mod is well worth downloading for it alone.

My impressions. I hate stealth games.

Holy god damn. This and Dishonored are driving me crazy with missing my PC now. 2 more months, 2 more months.

Is this still the duct tape mod that only adds flashlight to certain guns? I'm wondering if there is a flashlight mod that works like the new Doom 3 BFG armour mounted flashlight (with a recharging battery, like Half-Life).

There are turkeys amongst the FMs, but a lot of them, including Tears of St Lucia, are really, really well-made.

If you want to try it out, do check out this list of popular FMs.

Not really though, I do like that aspect of the BFG edition since unlike the duct tape mod your flashlight has limited life that needs to be recharged every so often giving it a bit more challenge. The duct tape mod has the flashlight with unlimited power but still presents a challenge by having the normal flashlight cover more area with light than the light emitted from the guns.

And duct tape mod only tapes the flashlight to pistol, rifle and shotgun doesn't it?

Well, there are other changes to the BFG edition that could be interesting, such as the slightly faster movement speed and more ammo drops (apparently an attempt to make it more action orientated rather than survival orientated).

Wish it were possible to have mods for these changes for the original Doom 3. But then maybe there are and someone here could point us at them?

korell:
I don't know about mods that increase ammo drops, since they were pretty plentiful in Doom 3, but if you want a mod that makes Doom 3 the way it should have been played, check out BloodRayne's (of Hexen: Edge of Chaos fame) Ultimate Mod:

Veteran easily becomes the equivalent of Doom's Ultraviolence.
