Don't let the name fool you, it's really got an extensive list of features, including time dilation (bullet time) and night vision. It also features some really frantic gameplay. Monsters actually respawn :O

The way they added stupid bright-ass bloom to the game makes me actively NOT want to play this version. Thanks Digital Foundry for saving me $10 in a Steam sale someday.

Wow, this is kinda fucked up. You can no longer buy the original DOOM 3 on Steam unless you buy the $99 id pack. ...What the hell id... Edit: Oh, looks like Final Doom met the same fate. Fuck id. Double Edit: Now you don't get Master Levels with Doom 2.

Yeah I understand that, in fact that was one of my first points against BFG edition. But if you get Doom 3 for free along with it, you also get a game compatible with mods.

Do you get Doom 3 along with Doom 3 BFG? I thought buyers only get Doom 3 BFG (with ROE), Doom 1 and Doom 2

All these shenanigans are making me very glad I still have my DRM-free versions of all of the Doom games and their expansions. Not offering the old versions for sale is just total bullshit. Sadly my LOTW disk got eaten by my dog like 15 years ago... but at least there are enough custom WADs to keep me busy pretty much forever.
