I want to reconnect to my friends, indeed. My REAL friends, social networking can go fuck itself (I use Facebook just to rant something stupid from time to time).....

Another thing i won't be using, kind of sick of all these social network sites.

Yes i don't care if people enjoy them or whatever it's up to them but it keeps being shoved in my face every 2 seconds with Facebook and Twitter buttons on every single website, aswell as being mentioned on tv and websites all the time.

I know i'm not missing out on anything because if i really wanted to know that "Hannah Just got back from the store and bought some sweets!" then i would probably be grabbing some binoculars and spying on her instead of looking at her on the internet.

I feel the same way, so I walk to the Philippines every day, just to talk to my friends that moved there for work.

You do have a point though. I much prefer talking to people in person.

Skype is pretty awesome. It's also the part of Google +1 that I'm most interested in. Since most of my old swimming pals use Skype regularly, I think they would be psyched to talk to more than 2-4 people at the same time.

Right... Facebook, Google or Microsoft. Actually, I think I share your opinion to trust the latter the most.

Don't misunderstand me: I trust none of those corporations. The larger they are, the worst they tend to behave. So said, at least Microsoft isn't focused on fucking you and your privacy anally just like the former two corporations are.

Skype is pretty cool, but if I use that they'll want to talk longer than a few seconds, and they're not THAT good friends. I'd rather just type a quick message and run away.

Come to think of it, if I want to be a bit careful/paranoid, the idea that a company could be recording my voice patterns, and video streams is a little more unsettling than simply text. (I don't upload my photos to services.)
