Guys,
Need some advice.
I just finished playing Another World - amazing game, never played it before. Two nights ago I played through Heard of Darkness on my trusty PSX - did it in one sitting, it's a truly brilliant game and I loved every moment of it.
Also, I have finished Force Unleashed yesterday. The game is nice, has a bit of old-school feel to it and the story is better than Episodes 1-3 combined.
So, what's the problem? I finished two amazing and one very good game and I have no idea what to play next.
So, do you have any recommendations. It would be nice if it would be something in the action/adventure area, but not necessarily. I would prefer if it wasn't an RPG, because I played too much of those lately and I need a break. I would also prefer if it wasn't a FPS unless it's story driven. :)
The game doesn't have to be old. I have a PC and most of the old and new consoles excluding the Wii and the Gamegear, so you can pick games from those platforms :)
Any ideas? :)
Have you played batman arkham asylum yet?

Yup, finished it twice - one of the very few games that I actually bothered to get a platinum trophy on the PS3 - it was that good :)
I would say Rogue Trooper but it's one of the few games that's not in the Steam sale unless you buy the Eidos complete pack.
If you haven't played it, I would recommend Sacrifice. It's different from anything else out there, and it's an amazing game. Oh, and you can get it right here at GOG ;-)
Oh yeah, another possibility is Psychonauts.

How long was that sitting?! Heart of Darkness is a great game, but very hard.
As for a good game recommendation, I would say Mirror's Edge, I absolutely love that game, but I can see why it's not for everybody, so try a demo of it first if possible.

New games I would say Red Dead Redemption, going through it now and having a blast. Alan Wake is good but bit short. Demon's Souls is very good. So good actually that my ps3 forced me to stop playing it by breaking. Metro 2033 seems good story driven FPS. But it has to wait until I have satisfied Western needs.
Older games you could test Outcast.
Heart of Darkness <3
You could try Darksiders? Its for PC, Xbox and PS3. It's pretty much God of War with more adventure elements in it.
Erm, you could try getting your hands on Magic & Mayhem. It's an awesome strategy/RPG game in which you take control of one wizard, and can summon creatures and use spells to help you. Has a very cool campaign (if a bit unforgiving at times).
Sanitarium. It's conveniently on sale at the moment too.
Right, so let me answer in order of appearance :)
@Delixe
Never played that. I need to check that out.
@Wishbone
Played Sacrifice some time ago and it wasn't my thing, but I've heard a lot of good things about Psychonauts and I might pick that :)
@Honorbuddy
Yeah, HoD is pretty hard, but it's also rather short. Finished it in just over 6 hours on normal difficulty.
As for Mirror's Edge - played, finished - it was ok, but the combat is terrible.
@Themock
RDR - I don't know. GTA4 was one of my biggest disappointement this gen, and RDR seems like more of the same.
I finished Alan Wake twice already - love that game. It's simply amazing. Same thing with Demon's Souls - one of the best games this generation.
Few friends played Metro - none of them said anything good about the game. :)
Outcast I may try - seems interesting.
@Aatami
I've been meaning to try Darksiders for some time now. I've played the demo and it seemed like a good game. However I've been put off a bit by reviews claiming
the plot is rather weak. Is that true, or should I disregard that? ;)
@Navagon
Ah yes, Sanitarium is one off my all times favorites. Can't even remember how many time I've finished that game :)
Thanks for the ideas guys. Now I have a few choices, but if anything else comes to your mind, please do post it here :)

The plot is fine. It certainly isn't weak, but it's not mind blowing either.

So, what do you LIKE to play? I know about plenty of great games, so try and narrow it down :D
For now, off the top of my head, I'd suggest Outcast (because I suggest that to everyone), System Shock (it's ... Well, it's System Shock, you know?), Fallout (I hope I don't even need to comment on that), Dawn of War games to have some example of real time strategy genre (I love Warhammer 40k universe), Planescape Torment (it has a special place in my heart as a game with the best story and narrative ever) and ... I've ran out of ideas :D Yes, I do know plenty more, but specifying a genre or games you liked the most would help :-)

Well, I like most genres, maybe except RTSes - Only ones I liked were the first C&C and Red Alert, Starcraft and Dawns of War :) - those I played and finished.
You are the second person to suggest Outcast, so that is on top of my list now.
I played System Shock 1 and 2, but as with Bioshock I got bored.
I finished Fallout 1 and 2 multiple times, didn't really get into Tactics and 3 is just "No" - played a bit of it and didn't like it at all.
Planescape Torment - I did play that for a while, but for me the game is just too annoying.
What I would really like to play is a good survival horror, but there are pretty much none this gen and I finished most of survival horrors from the past gens, so this is probably out :)
As I have written in my first post something from the action adventure genre would be nice. Or something with a good storyline in general :)

And there you have Planescape again, what DID you find annoying about it?
As for survival horror, I have actually heard a lot of PRAISE for Metro 2033. Or you can play STALKER games.

Have you already played the original Alone in the Dark (1992), the original Clock Tower (SNES), and the Penumbra games?
