Okay to whoever it may concern, I have the Cat Lady; bought it last week. I have no clue if that answers anything but I'm starting to have flashbacks to my 20's when I woke up every morning and the first thing I had to do every morning was figure out where the hell I was. :P Man, those were good times.

Well then, let's test this little theory: someone points to one particular "spam review", and everyone in the thread will report it as such.

Assuming that even doing this nothing happens, we will at least know that:

a) more votes are needed to remove a particular review

b) nothing is ever going to happen no matter how much it gets reported.

c) *to be filled in later*

Just a suggestion of course.

Voting blows, then some moderator has to keep track of it. A requirement for an account to own at least one game here plus a CAPTCHA could help.

So, for the latest 9 pages of Master of Orion 1 and 2 reviews, I counted about 22 of 27 reviews as spam. Now after that, things seems to go better, but the first 9 pages are still unacceptable to me. Alpha Centauri seems to have about 11 reviews out of the latest 24 as spam, which is certainly better but still a poor show on GOG's part imo.

Allright, i went and marked as spam the ones from page 62 onward, let's see if others will help out.

Half joking half serious, no wonder I hated that game!
Seriously, that could actually hurt a game. Most of this spam talk I think could be solved by just ignoring people and post but someone who is on the fence about a game like MOO, starts reading reviews and gets hit by spam is likely to say "fuck it" and buy something else or nothing at all. I don't understand what people see in the MOO series but it would be a shame if someone who might actually love it gets turned off of it because of this crap.

This isn't just a "grey area" weird opinion or complaint. It is an obvious scam post and should be removed. Is the GOG website such a mess that deleting these posts is too time consuming? If GOG didn't let this lapse, it would probably be trivial to keep up with new instances.

In all fairness have you seen those bags? They're FABULOUS!!!! In fact they have a little red number that will go just perfect with my new pumps! I can wear them this weekend! I'm gonna look so good and all the other trannies are going to be jealous jealous jealous!

Yikes ;(

From what I noticed in a number of games:
-- There was a wave of these spam-reviews during April and May and before that it was heavy in Dec. 2012.
-- During April and May, the more popular games in the Wishlist were also hit in their comments.

Almost looks like GOG gets hit hard during holiday seasons (Christmas & Eastern).

Yeah, there's an obvious pattern to the spam posts. I'd think that the "code ninjas" could come up with SOMETHING.

The review section as a whole is useless. Go watch a YT video or go to an actual review site if you want that.

IMHO, that's beside the point.
Spam-reviews that don't get deleted give a very messy and sloppy impression of the site and make GOG look indifferent, to say the least.

Up vote the good ones down vote the bad ones. The bad ones get shoved to back the good ones get shoved towards the front.
