Isn't there a bunch of internet drama surrounding this game and the guy making it?

Too bad, since it certainly looks like a game I'd play. I kind of like the artwork (except for the pure-white shadows on some of the monster sprites).

Don't recall this at all, but DNF is unparalleled in regards to protraction. Case in point: When DNF development was started, Google was not a thing.

I still remember it, in fact I still have the website bookmarked in my browser. Maybe it is a false hope, but I still would like to see the game released in the future.

No. I think DNF only came out later because it has Duke Nukem in it. Every real gamer in this world knows the name Duke Nukem. What I'm trying to say is it was worth it to continue DNF in the eyes of people because it is obvious the Duke Nukem name is going to sell(before people played DNF). DNF provided people who make games with a low risk option. The same way the COD name does which is why you see a lot of COD games. I think now the Duke Nukem name is almost useless thanks to DNF being an epic FAIL.
