(Note if you post a recently released turn based game I was unaware of it)

Mostly turn based RPGs like Fallout 1, Final Fantasy 1 - 10, Dragonquest, etc.

I know so many people perfers live-action because its faster and does not stops the game flow, but fuck sometimes I wanna sit down and strategies instead of being on my toes and constantly dodging in attack.

Its not that I hate live action oh no, I love Elder Scrolls and Demon's Souls and such but sometimes I don't wanna play these faster paced games sometimes I just wanna relax and take turns.

Do you guys feel the same?

Not at all. Glad they are 'gone'.

If I miss playing them all I have to do is reinstall them. I got Baldur's Gate, NWN, TOEE, etc. but got no time really.

I'd like it if there were some new turn-based rpgs, but the insane lasting turns are what always makes me stop playing Jagged Alliance 2.

Turn-based is great when there's just a few guys/characters/factions. If there's too many, it can get really old really fast.

Yes, definitely. Most of the time I prefer real-time with pause like IE games or Dragon Age Origins but turn-based is better than real-time with no pause.

I would not classify Baldur's Gate and pure Turn Based trust you can tell the difference between Fallout 1 and Baldur's Gate. Dude come on Fallout 1 was incredibly immersive despite being turn-based, which caught me by surprise there were moments where it felt like a horror game like when you enter Vault 15.

Nope because games with solid turn based combat are still being made, even if not as high-category as the ones you mentioned, with exceptions.

Dragon Quest games are still being made, jRPG influenced titles are still being made by indie developers (see: Breath of Death/Cthulhu saves the World), consoles/handhelds still get turn based titles (see: SMT and Persona which technically are still part of the same series). They just ain't the top of the line publicized titles.

I find the Infinity Engine games to be the exact opposite of that statement. Surely, the way it handled combat wasn't the only gripe I have with that engine, but it was one point.

Within minutes I was absorbed into Fallout. I never was absorbed into BG or IWD ....

The cool thing about turn based games is that they often have a lot of replay value -- especially the strategy games. There are occasionally some new turn-based games being released, but at least you can always go back and replay the old ones, which I think stand up to time quite well. And, there are a lot to choose from with the old ones. I wish more were being made because I do love turn-based gameplay in certain gametypes, but I'm pretty content with all the ones I already have.

Turn-based strategy is my favorite genre. Turn-based RPGs are my preference when I'm controlling a whole group of characters.

But I'm not "missing" those games in any way. I have dozens of them, many unplayed, and new ones keep getting released.

I like some turn-based games and think there are some that couldn't really work well any other way. But do I want all my RPGs to be turn-bsaed? Gods, no. As long as there are same that are TB, some that are RT, and some that are RTwP, I'm quite happy with it.

This is pretty much how I feel. They may not enjoy the same popularity they once had, but if I want to play a turn based game, it's not hard to find one.

I like non-turn based RPGs to, though. It just depends on the game. Generally, I prefer to real time RPGs to be ones that have me controlling a single character, rather than a party.

For strategy games, however, my preference strongly leans to the turn based, or at least slow-paced, variety. Many RTS's feel more like action games to me. If success in the game is based on how many things I can do really quickly, than it's probably not the strategy title for me. Some people enjoy that aspect of them though, and there is nothing wrong with that, of course.

... You both seem to be talking about overall. I am talking about combat only. Watching everyone shuffle around, not a whole lot of strategy or action. Fallout and Fallout 2 are on my top 20 games of all times list but combat is the last reason why.
