Lone3wolf: nothing except 35+ years of backstory...why do you think the Doctor ran away from them in the first place? because they sat on their arses drinking tea and eating crumpets all day?
Er, yeah. There have been individuals who were evil (the Master, Meddling Monk, Omega) but the society as a whole? Not a chance. They were stiffling and boring, that is why the Doctor left.
Lone3wolf: Every time he's ran into them, it goes badly. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Absolute power, AND mastery of time? O_o
So all the times that we've seen the Doctor on Gallifrey happily talking to his fellow Timelords are what? Times when he's been evil? Times when they've decided not to kill him at this moment? If they were truely evil would he have happily left one of his companions on Gallifrey with them?
I don't argue that they're all good, just that calling them evil is an over simplification that condems a whole race with no evidence (though as it is RTD writting this script it could be true).
Did anyone else get the impression that because RTD isn't doing Who anymore that he's trying to pack up all his toys and take them away before the new guy gets in?
