So clearly, "The End of Time" does not mean "the end of time". What are they talking about, I wonder...

There's nothing pointing to them being evil yet, just resurrected.

Good Sci-Fi, bad Doctor Who story

Gridlock... dumb. Tooth and Claw I actually liked! It's so uncharacteristic of RTD I even suspect it was ghost-written. I don't think he even promoted homosexuality in the whole episode?

nothing except 35+ years of backstory...why do you think the Doctor ran away from them in the first place? because they sat on their arses drinking tea and eating crumpets all day?
Every time he's ran into them, it goes badly. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Absolute power, AND mastery of time? O_o
Agree with most here : Rose was much better in "Secret Diary of" where she (almost) strips off each episode....which would be fine if her face didn't have me reaching for a baseball bat every time it's seen....not to mention her voice.
The way these recent "incarnations" have been written have me hoping fervently for the last of the 12....but knowing the people involved, they're going to come up with something realllly lame to explain how 12th regeneration is not the last a timelord is allowed despite everything in previous cannon. Retcon....*blerrrrgh*

I didn't actually mind Rose in series one with Ecclestons Doctor where there was more of a Father/Daughter vibe than the soppy lovebirds that were Tennant's Doctor and Rose. In series 2 Rose was rude, arrogant, stroppy and spoiled and when I heard the words "This is how I died" I said YES!!!
Of course RTD loves Rose as much as Doctor 10 does so he brought her back and it was bloody awful. In series 3 we got to see Martha (A much more likable person than Rose) reminded that she was not as good as Rose in almost every episode. Then in Series 4 when the Doctor finally appeared to move on we had her stupid face shoved onto the screen every chance they could get.

Never been a huge fan of RTD as a writer in the series -- the finales in particular have been disappointing. He loves to concoct crazy, elaborate, and seemingly impossible situations for the Doctor to get out of and after he paints himself into a corner he pulls out some wacky solution since it's the only way to resolve things. Some fans have taken to calling this 'Davies Ex Machina.' Granted it's a science fiction show geared mostly at a younger audience but Rose as Bad Wolf, the power of positive thought toppling the master, and Donna flipping a few switches and totally shutting down the Daleks was a bit too far outside of the box to pass the laugh test.
I thought the majority of this first part was cringe-worthy. Have to hold full judgment until we see the second part but the way the master was resurrected was so campy as was his electro-Gollum-like self leaping on lightning and devouring food. That said, the acting is always solid: particularly Tennant and Cribbins (Wilf) and Dalton looks like he'll turn in a similarly good performance.
But really... everyone turns into the Master? That 'Master Race' pun was just awful as was the (what I gathered to be) sarcastic parody of Obama as the savior. Of course Davies will resolve the over the top cliffhanger with cybernetic unicorns shooting cotton candy from various orifices and hopefully he'll never write for the show again.

I find with Davies his strength is in drama writing. He writes dialogue very well. Utopia is a perfect example also the banter between Simm and Tennant in The Sound of the Drums. What Davies cannot do is action, he is bloody awful at it and thinks he is really good. RTD seems to think that bigger = better so he keeps raising the stakes further and further until the ending comes with the flick of a switch.
If RTD stuck with writing episodes like Tooth and Claw, Gridlock, Midnight, Turn Left and Utopia I think we would miss him. As it stands we have Aliens of London, Love and Monsters, Last of the Time Lords and Journey's End to remind us all to wave him a big goodbye.

Strange you pick those three. The Master at least Delgado's Master never considered himself evil. He believed he should rule the Universe because he was the best qualified. Over the years he has slowly been driven mad by a quest for immortality but mad =/= evil.
The Meddling Monk wasn't evil either, he was genuinely trying to improve the world by halting the Norman invasion of England. Many historians say the Norman conquest did a huge amount of damage to English/Saxon culture and England never recovered from it.
Omega was betrayed by Rassilon. Evil maybe but it was driven by revenge. Omega was dumped into a Black Hole. You can imagine he would be annoyed.
Borusa and The Rani are far better examples of Evil Time Lords

Funny how on Twitter Delixe got in a flame war over The End of Time. I haven't seen it myself so I can't speak for the awesomeness of the story though.

I think he was one of the wannabe writers that use IMDB that I insulted. However I stand by what I said as I myself post on IMDB and a lot of people just invent flat out lies to complain about. That lad on Twitter for example said it was poorly written rubbish. I said what about the scenes with Tennant and Cribbins? He then said well they were ok but the rest was poorly written rubbish. Can't win arguments with those type of people.

Well if it is poorly written rubbish he probably had a fit over Voyage of the Damned.
