Guys, I think some of you misguide GOG for a trading platform or eBay on forums.

GOG is a store and a forum, not a trading platform. I can't figure how setting forums to encourage trading would be GOG's priority.

But they promised (tee hee) fixing PMs to show rep and reg date anyway.

For the record I have only ever "downrepped" one person.

And my own rep only turns me on when I am REALLY lonely.

Anyone one know if there is a condition for being sexually attracted to numbers? I tried to Google search but came up empty. Perhaps we could start a case study involving GOGers with high reps? Sounds like a good dissertation for all you psych majors. I claim naming rights: Parvateshwar Syndrome.

While I'm not a trader myself, I think it's a valid reason for the need of a rep system, so far.

Other reason is for "early warning". I knew about the existence of Wakalo / Anasto / *insert other scammer's names here* thanks to their low-rep posts in the Ninja thread (mainly)...

A reliable way to check trustworthiness and usual behavior would be to have an option to see one's comments by clicking on a member's name, like on other forums.
The rep system is exactly what you call it, a "somewhat of a guideline" because it can be abused either way.

That ought to negate all the -1 I handed out.

Id love to know why im downrepped. I think some of it would be funny and the rest is ammo to troll the people who did it. (if it also tells you who done it)

The better question is, why do people care about "rep". There are no advantages to it! Personally, I read everything anyway.
