I still visit them just like I did back in the day, I still say no console game will ever be like an arcade game.

We don't have them anymore.
I wasn't aware we had any left in the States. When I was a kid I lived in them. From time to time I'll have flashbacks (in a good way) to the vibe you got when you entered one, with the sounds and vibration. Good times my friends.
I would if we had any nearby. Unfortunately, the only one we had was closed a long time ago. =/

Sometimes, though, I'll get lucky while I'm on holiday and find an arcade machine in a hotel.
Almost all gone in my area although think a caravan park still has a few machines but i dont venture there.

Dito. The best one can hope for here is to find a pinball machine in a bar, and even those are relatively rare.

Bars or pinball machines? :P
I would if they still existed in my city... Not even pinball machines with broken flippers can be found here.
4 quarters = one full beer.

The answer is obvious.
I had alot of history with arcades. From good old days of Street Fighter 2 (and seeing Akuma appear for the first time) and Daytona, completing Capcom's Warriors of Fate using 1 token with another classmate during school holidays, skipping classes to play KOF 97 and Marvel vs Capcom. Daytona was one of the longest lasting arcade games, and one of my friends is a local competiton finalist.

And yeah, I still go to arcades once a while. Mostly to play some old familiar games and watch the pros play Street Fighter IV.

Pinball machines. There are plenty of places that serve overpriced alcohol over here :P
They have pretty much disappeared here too, a long time ago. The only places I know having some coin ops is the local amusement park (Linnanmäki), and a few of the biggest movie theaters.

And in all these places, the coin ops are rather old, like Sega Rally 2, some Time Crisis games etc. I presume new coin ops haven't been made for a long time? When I went to see Pacific Rim in the movie theater, I looked a bit at Outrun 2 arcade, and kept thinking how it looked like some older PC driving games on GOG.

Yeah and the pricing is a problem... If I played them a bit, I would have used the amount of money it takes to buy a couple of GOG games. I would be interested to try out that certain Star Wars coin op though in one movie theater, but I just didn't dare to put two euros or so just to try it out.

I actually never considered pinball machines in the same vein as the classic "video game arcade". IMO no amount of technology, consols, giant flat screen 3D tvs can ever duplicate the feel of a real pinball machine. Hence, there will always be a place for pinball machines and now that I think about it, there are quite a few around where I live.

I considered getting one for the B&B but then I realized, living in a log building with the noise and vibration those give off, shit you'd think you were being bombed every time someone had a game! :P
Haven't seen one in decades, I think there might be one a few towns over near the beach.
I'd love to, but we don't have them anymore really. When I travel to the UK, I drive to seaside towns that still have some resemblance of them, but even those are mostly fruit machines and shitty 30 second rail shooters now.

Mind you, I took my goddaughter up to our local theme park recently (first time I'd been there in 17 years), and found that the arcade was still there. It was basically made up of several racing games, one After Burner Climax machine and a range of pinball machines (including a Rollercoaster Tycoon pinball machine, no less).

I was tempted to have a crack at After Burner Climax, but at 2 euros a pop, my only reaction was "get fucked".
