Crassmaster: That's...weird. Thunderstone went through some changes and kind of re-released as Thunderstone Advanced a year or so ago. Are those available in Poland?
I know about Advance, but it doesn't have Polish edition as well. I paid for new brand sealed copy of Thunderstone PL equivalent of 15 bucks, so you know... :P

I wish Advance and all expansions got Polish ed. but it doesn't seem likely - Thunderstone sold quite poorly, so the price reduced by 60%

We really sunken deeply in Thunderstone. But I will have to buy expansions and Advance for hard dollars and for English versions.

Ah, okay. Well, if you like what you have that at least keeps you covered for awhile.

Drakeer: I love to play board games with my iPad! My last favorite is Eclipse!
I've played Eclipse as well (not necessarily the same one? Sounds like a pretty generic name to me) and it sucks a fat one. Not a bad game per se, but there are balance issues in that the first five rounds or so pretty much set the tone for the next six hours; if you get a poor start, the rest of the game is going to go badly as well. Chaos in the Old World is different in this regard, because the random elements of it generally mean you won't be screwed over for too long (it is still possible, though very unlikely, to be fucked from the first round over).

Best board game ever:

You need a massive wooden board, so you may buy one from a hardware store. Then the players stand in a circle. The first player has the board in his hands and has one try to break it with his head. If he was unsuccessful he gives the board to the next player clockwise. Then the second player has to do the same and so on. Winner is, who breaks the board with his head.

This game can be played at every age and the playtime is usually not so long. ^^

(im assuming the normal type (monopoly scrabble payday etc) is not meant by this thread)

I bought my first 'boardgame' last year for a trip away with the family. Escape from Forbidden Island. Quite a basic game but I found it fun. Heres a review, hope it helps and if not the linked site may point you in the direction of something else you may like

I recommend Forbidden Island for starters too.

But I recommend The Hive even more. It's like chess, but with insects!

As the person in my group of friends who has most the games, trust me when I tell you that he'd be thrilled to help you out. He buys games because he wants to play them. :) Just tell him what sort of computer games you like to give him something to go off of, try some games with him and have fun.

I didn't know freaking Wil Wheaton has a geek show and an entire board games section! It's freaking amazing.

Yeah, TableTop has been going for over a year now. Check out some of the past episodes...it can be a nice way to learn a bit more about a few of the games out there.
I've been playing the "Dresden Files RPG" with my friends recently. We use a piece of paper for a board so that we can draw our surroundings. It's sort of D&D style and is pretty fun if you can get into it.
Short answer for me, nope.
