write the names down of the ones that catch your fancy, put it on a dartboard, and then see where the dart lands ^^

In order of length, start with the shortest ones.
uhm thats a good idea thanks :) and i can finaly finish some of them
First, get the age of the primary creator at the time they started working on each game, pick the one closest to the middle. If two people/games are tied, take the one who's last name ends with a later letter.

Now you have your first game.

For the rest, go in order of how close they relate to the last game (using for example, storyline, style of humour, graphics engine, genre, and other points to determine their closeness).

Uhm i think im gonne use a randomnizer I noticed im an rpg fanatic so baicly there are no short games :(
That's a fair chunk of time. You should take advantage of it. Try to get in the right mood to play some of the most important games in your backlog. It's work but it can pay off.

I find I normally choose lesser titles when I don't have time to really immerse myself.

Thanks that is good advise as well
I say either rank games based on your overall interest or by their price or a mixture of the two.

Interest is good because if it turns out you don't have time for all your games at least you'll have played the ones that are most fun to you.

Price is good because game values are ever decreasing. It's never a good feeling to have a game in your backlog that you've never touched become significantly cheaper than what you initially paid for it just to have it sit there.
In priority:
Mood
Interest
Lengeth (short first)
Difficulty (depending on mood but generally easy first)
Are there any must play games on the list? Any games that people keep talking about, where you feel left out of the conversations because you have not played them? Then start with one of those.
Is there any game on the list that is really odd? Like say one of Ice-Pick lodge's games? In that case, that should be your second game.
3rd should be the game that you judge to be the most historically important game. Sure, Stratosphere might be a fun game, but did it actually influence anything? No, this is for the Ultimas, the Wizardrys and the King's Quests.
Put all your games onto backloggery.com and use the Fortune Cookie function. It will choose the game for you :)

Mind you, if your backlog is so big it might take 4 weeks just to enter the data!

Uhm I consider doing that thanks :)

Has anyone figured out how the fortune cookie "randomization" works? When I don't know what I want to play, I just hit it a few times until I get something that looks fun, but it does seem like games repeat themselves far too often for it to be true randomness. Usually it feels like it is just cycling between a few games. It varies what games it cycles between, but the same few games will show up enough times each session for it to not feel like true randomness.
Why do you feel obligated to clear your backlog? Is it just a preference or do you feel an actual need to be backlog free? Because let me tell you, if you got discipline, you ain't got a backlog, and if you ain't got discipline, you have a backlog.
