Do you ever have dreams where you're in a video game, or even that you're playing a video game within a dream? I seem to have these all the time, and I was wondering if you guys, who presumably play a lot of games, also have game-based dreams.

My video game dreams are usually mashups of my favorite games from childhood and are actually really awesome and when i'm dreaming they actually seem to make sense. For example i had a dream where i was playing Zelda (it looked like skyward sword's art style) but it was combined with all these Jak and Daxter-like platforming elements and it was amazing.

The only time I dreamt about a game was Demon Souls, I was having major trouble with a boss before I went to bed. When I was dreaming I worked a way out to defeat him, I instantly woke up and tried it... it worked!

Not really, no. Then again, it's been a while since I've remembered any of my dreams and those I remember were weird wacky stuff, like my right arm growing a three toed extra arm from the elbow every time I bent it or me eating my own glasses once. I guess that sort of weird shit gets stuck on a memory dendrite somewhere but playing a video game or being in one gets flushed out of the brain data banks when I wake up.

I don't remember dreaming about a video game in particular, but there was a period when I was playing UT 2003 before going to sleep, and then I had nightmares because I was still in a paranoid mode.

Same here, usually for first person shooters. Funny thing is, I'm aware it's a game, so I'm not afraid because I know if things go wrong I just go back to last save and try a different way.

that bit where you are not quite asleep but not really awake is awesome for me to think up new ways of doing things, especially in puzzle games.

Its usually followed by that involuntary kick of the leg thats your body screaming "Wake up I tell you when to sleep"

Yep, recently I had a dream of a game which was some sort of combination of Expeditions: Conquistador and...I don't know, Eador: Genesis, perhaps?
