It's a complete piece of shit right now. Get the old Rainbow Six games or SWAT instead.

*The game folder is called "Takedown: Red Sabre Early Access" even though it was never advertised as an "Early Access" title.

*The multiplayer lobby doesn't actually work, or at least it does work sometimes for some people.

*You can get "disconnected" during single-player.

*The AI is as dumb as rocks. It's the same stoner/crack-addict AI seen 15 years ago, except that it's got even worst. The defaultAI config file has 8 lines of code in it. It seriously has to be all the AI programming in the game it's incredibly pants.

Watch this to see how incredibly poor the AI is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKxgc54nGGY

*The pre-order unlock code doesn't actually work.

*The game does not actually kill the game process when you exit. You have to use task manager to quit the game.

*The game does not load the 64bit exe for 64bit OS's.

*Various bugs with the menus such as load-out not always saving.

*The enemy is one player model.

*No voice chat just a text-to-speech you can't disable so you can Trolololololo everyone with "? ! % , . " (Question mark Exclamation mark Percentage Comma Period)

Oh, it came out already? I thought it was due for at least another couple of months in the oven. I certainly looked like it needed it.

Yeah, this was a "Last Straw" kinda thing....huge petition filling up fast for a refund in the game's Steam forum.

I think we're all pretty fed-up with "Taking one for the Steam" and eating wasted funds.

Total Biscuit has a pretty definitive review for it on Tube right now.

I could understand if the game was released as five dollar Desura fodder with the 13-year-old developer admitting "Beta" but this is Steam dagnabbit!

Just played some more.

"Facility" looks fantastic and plays better since some of the enemy's seem to be on a patrol and not just standing there.

Some more problems though:

No chat in the multiplayer lobby, no "player ready", you can't customise the gun loadouts in the lobby or ingame you need to go back to the main menu, map selected isn't always the map it loads, levels have all the doors open even though you can have breaching charges.
I've heard it's pretty damn rough. Didn't expect AAA production values but some of this stuff is pretty bad. Hopefully it gets fixed up.
Holy crap...
Will someone please give me the cat o' nine tails? I kickstarted that thing, which ends up being a steam exclusive while advertised as drm-free...

There is no DRM-free version at all ?

I originally wanted to back it but totally forgot about it and missed Kickstarter campaign end... looks like I was lucky after all.
This is why the 'early access' thing that is so popular nowadays isn't always a great idea.
I kickstarted this along with a friend. While I wasn't expecting too much, I was also expecting a playable game. Should've used that money to buy Raven Shield.
I went back and played some more. Facility is a great level. It's huge and looks great. You walk around the outside on the concrete bit and shoot the enemies through the metal grate floor because they won't even attempt to shoot back at you. Silencers are pointless to have on your gun. The enemies are as deaf as a post, all it does it make your gun longer so its a pain in the arse to get around corners. Don't bother with objective mode because the objectives don't always register as complete. Had a bug where my guns disappeared and another when an automatic door wouldn't open.

I really want this to be good. Right now its not worth it. It doesn't crash or freeze but it's broken in so many places it's not worth playing. Fighting with the buggy interface to do what you want is bad enough but once your in the game the braindead A.I. is just not that satisfying to keep killing. They're mostly oblivious or confused as to what is happening. There isn't a difficulty setting so you can choose how dumbererer or smarter the enemies are you just get a majority of them baked out of their minds.

I worry now for Ground Branch, and that game was unsuccessful with its funding.

And yes I really want Raven Shield DRM Free.

Raven Shield 2.0 and Ordanance Project are Mods I recommend.

As much I liked the original R6 games didn't even feel like backing this for some reason. Sorry for the people who actually paid money for this.
From the Steam page:
Designed by Takedown designer and FPS modding legend, Christian Allen
Ah, so Takedown was designed by the Takedown designer. Hm, very insightful...
Ok, I won't buy it.

I can't say I even knew such game was coming out, before reading this thread. Does it have something to do with the Rainbow Six series?

Nope - I'm really not even sure what's meant to make this game stand out from other FPS's TBH.

It's like a poorly done Counter Strike clone for the most part.
