Yes I do and own over 100 fantasy novels. I mostly read Forgotten Realms but I've also read all Eddings early works up to Secret/Hidden City and Tales of Belgarath and Polgara (names roughtly translated), all Raymond E. Feist books I've gotten my hands on and various others including Dragonlance and Conan. I also read tons of comics, mostly manga these days.

Verne is amazing, shame I have red his books such a long time ago (that means I hardly remember anything :D ) Heh, however, since my girl will probably make me read them again, I will remember them soon enough :D

I don't have much time to read, especially lately, but I try to read at least one book a month. Currently I'm finishing Lisey's Story by Stephen King after struggling with it a bit... the beginning really dragged. Also I just finished Clarkson's "For Crying out Loud", but it was nowhere near as good as his previous books.
Now I want to read the original editions of Frankenstein and Dracula. :)
By the way - does anyone know when the new Mass Effect book is coming out?

I have always valued and enjoyed reading, but never done much of it for fun. I always feel guilty about that. However, I read so much as a graduate student that I rarely feel like reading in my down time. I prefer games, television, music, or doing something outdoors.
When I do read, I also like Dostoevsky and cyber punk. Crime and Punishment was great, and Notes From The Underground was a personal favorite in college. As for cyberpunk, I recently read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson and I really loved it. It's the literary equivalent of a sci-fi action blockbuster movie. It's a little dated now that Second Life is basically the metaverse, and it didn't turn out as cool as Stephenson imagined it, but still an enjoyable read. I got the Cryptonomicon by Stephenson as well and I'm looking forward to getting to that... eventually.

i think i know why: eragon is terrible. my god i hate that series, the first was almost average, but mostly felt empty and lifeless. the second is one of the very, very few books i have ever quit reading. and that was after i was gracious enough to give it a second chance.
EDIT: Has anyone else read the dragoncrown war series? Or any Michael Stackpole? Every once in a while I like to read an exceptionally good fantasy story that doesn't require any deeper thought. If you've read those books you know what I mean, could you recommend me something similar?
EDIT EDIT: Might I also recommend Patrick Rothfuss' Name of the Wind to anyone and everyone. Screw that guy for taking so long to write the next in the series, it had better be as brilliant as the first.
