Would this in any way coincide with the news that GOG is on the verge on getting a big publisher onboard? I sense a disturbance...
i think i'll make a thread about it.
There's no way in hell GOG would continue their talks with LA if their buyout put any impending releases in immediate jeopardy. I'd imagine that they'll wait until the dust has settled and the ink has dried before seeing if Disney is more approachable than LA ever was.

Given the number of titles that have been pulled from GOG already, they're very cautious about things like that now.

That said, if they where in the midst of striking a deal with Disney then that's a different matter entirely.
Disney is nowadays Steam exclusive. They had more chances with LucasArts alone.

Steam exclusive? There isn't a single Disney game on there...

Yeah, more like console exclusive really. I reckon that either Disney will look at LA's assets and try and wring some extra money out of them or sell them off. Either is good news for GOG.

Epic Mickey is apparently going to be Steamworks...

Oh, and bad news for LucasArts:

Disney CEO Robert Iger briefly discussed Disney's plans for game development using the intellectual properties acquired in the acquisition, saying, "We're likely to focus more on social and mobile than we are on console. We'll look opportunistically at console, most likely in licensing rather than publishing, but we think that given the nature of these characters and how well known they are, and the storytelling, that they lend themselves quite nicely, as they've already demonstrated to the other platforms."

...except if they sell off the games then suddenly the Star Wars games won't be owned by the same people as the IP for the films which could screw the entire Star Wars games back catalog but at least we get the SCUMM stuff (except for Indy as well, actually)

Yes, but that would be a step in the right direction, I suppose. The problem now is that all those titles aren't being sold at all.
It's been going on for awhile now.

Disney has been struggling desperately to maintain itself as something more than
just a theme park.

If they sold the Star Wars games (which is highly unlikely) then naturally that would include licence to resell the games. So it shouldn't screw anything.
And there goes any chance of seeing anything LucasArts ever showing up on GOG. Disney as a big corporation aren't going to care about anything small or niche like GOG.

Dunno, think it's more likely they'd license companies to make new Star Wars games without a second thought to the back catalog which would then end up in limbo...

They've now got at least two games studios (probably more, but I don't know). That and the fact that they outright own the Star Wars license means that your scenario is practically impossible. More likely; they just ignore the old games and focus on milking their most lucrative acquisitions. But that's not really any different to what LA were doing anyway.
I see it now, Darth Mickey. I'm kidding of course.
