I hope this is just a nasty rumor.
Why do you hope it's a rumor? Wideload didn't make particularly excellent games.

I really enjoyed Stubbs the Zombie.
Also, this whole purchasing thing that Disney is doing really doesn't make a lot of sense to me, devouring marvel and swallowing wideload.. it's kind of confusing.

Stubbs was fun, but Hail to the Chimp looked incredibly stupid.
Not really that confusing. With the global recession many companies are finding themselves rather cash strapped. Along comes a giant like Disney shopping for bargains.

Disney is a giant, but why buy wideload? I only see a benefit for wideload, not really for disney.
especially when parents go "OMFG DISNEY MADE A GAME WHERE YOU'RE A ZOMBIE AND YOU THROW YOUR INTESTINES AT LIVING BREATHING HUMANS?! KILL DISNEY!!!"
ok, I don't really think there will be a Stubbs sequel.. ever...
Interesting choice of title.
I'm curious how the critics/journlaists/etc. will react to this "spending spree" of Disney... They really hate EA for having bought/buying so many IPs, so I *expcet* to see a similar reaction in this case as well.
As much as I'm really not a fan of the company as a whole, Disney does have a talent when it comes to picking people for roles that nobody else would even consider. Then seeing those people do well.
Having Seropian oversee their gaming output should certainly help raise the bar. But I do feel bad for Wideload Games, as it seems like it wasn't the purpose of the buyout. I have a suspicion they may be dropped at some point, which will leave them in a bad way indeed.

They're turning into the Walmart of entertainment. I don't see how they're going to hold a higher reputation given how far they've dropped their standards to make a fast buck.
