Well, I've been watching GoG like a hawk for a week now, and I am curious... did I miss the Holiday sale this year?
Yes you did, sorry. It ended this past Monday, However, there's a current sale of the entire Nordic catalog lasting until Monday, with the majority getting pulled after the sale.
GOG also generally does a significant New Year's Sale, so that should only be 10 days away or so.

I was hoping for Sam and Max Hit The Road, and Zork, for my adventure game a thon next week.
Yes. Twice.

Sam & Max Hit The Road is highly unlikely to go on sale anytime soon, at least not this year anymore. It's only just been added to GOG with the first batch of LucasArts games and we're still waiting for more. I'd be very surprised if any of them goes on sale before more have arrived here.

A blind hawk? :(
Dude, you missed the best party. We had naked chicks drinking out of Viking helmets and everything. We did a midget tossing game, had a raffle, and on the last day of the sale GOG gave all of their games away for free. It was truly amazing. Too bad you missed it, broseph.

When hunting with a hawk, one must always remember to remove the hood first :)

Actually, I can't recall a New Year's Sale at GOG. Although, up until last year, GOG's Holiday/Winter Sale used to last until past New Year's. The past couple years the sale has started earlier (no doubt to get a leg up on Steam) and so has ended earlier.

2014's New Year's Sale was the Time Machine sale, which worked similarly to the Insomnia Sale from 2013's November, except every purchase added time to the game up for offer. In the years before that, as you said, the Winter sale simply spanned the distance.

Edit: I also think in 2013 there was a start of the year sale at the beginning of January, but I could be mistaken.

I guess we're talking about something different. I thought we were talking about a sale at the very *beginning* of the year, but you seem to be talking about a sale simply *in* January (Time Machine started on January 28th), which, yeah, sure, that could happen...
