kaka123: It does kinda suck not being able to play offline but still this game will make my year!!
Is the gameplay like Diablo 2, or something else?

Are you interested in it because you loved Diablo 2 so much, or some other reason? If so, what was it that you loved the most in D2 gameplay?

Are you mostly looking forward to playing it for the single-player campaign, or playing it online with other players?

Have you played D3 (beta or whatever) already, so you know what to expect?

No, I can't be arsed to read any praising Gamespot previews of it, they always lie anyway.

Ps. My main interest currently regarding Diablo 3 is to see how fast, if ever, it will be cracked by the filthy pirates. I think it will be the Holy Grail for pirates, but from a purely academic point of view, I'm willing to see this struggle.

I personally am not interested in the pirated version (either).

I am not going to touch Diablo 3 even with a ten foot pole.

I have long time ago stopped supporting companies who screw over their customers with DRM. I am looking forward to Torchlight 2, if Runic is reasonable enough to release a version without a mandatory activation scheme.

Perhaps some of the higher-ups here could persuade the runic team to put TL1 and TL2 up for sale here at gog.com?

Me too. Go Torchlight 2 :). D3 will just be all about that appalling auction house mumbo jumbo...
I've played 1,2 so yeah I'm looking forward to three more because of the new characters, new leveling system online not so much looking forward, and to top it much better visuals and you can also use the environment to dispatch monsters such as pulling a lever to drop what looks like a chandelier on top of monsters
Also I've been watching people play the beta but does anyone know how to get it?

Ive been thinking about playing the DLC class with the new spells from the Auction House and maybe buying the Deckard Caine mini pet that shoots fireworks... Then i was thinking of crafting... wait thats gone... ok i'll use the cube to custom make.... wait thats gone too... OK never mind i'll get some awesome armor casting all sorts of spell.... wait only 3 skills at a time ever and armor is class specific... OK then im going to be the class that can PVP like crazy with MAX stamina... Wait theres no PVP and all skills are automatically raised...

well hell, im playing Torchlight 2 then :p

Yah, that auction house is just an invitation for hacking and fraud. I mean, who the fuck came up with the idea of allowing PC gamers - a significant portion of which openly cheats and hacks - the opportunity to make real money off their exploits.

Besides, the word is that Torchlight 2 will be DRM-free at retail.

Obviously, resilience will fix it.
Runic said it'll have the same distro as Torchlight 1 so yes it'll have activation DRM but retail will be DRMfree... and retail lags 1-3 months behind digital... at least that's what happened with TL1 and there release though "Encore" for the boxed edition

I have not interest in D3. I really liked Diablo 1 and it was the first game I played on the internet.

But Diablo 2 sucked big time, imo. Therefore I really don't have any interest in D3. And the "only online" isn't bothering me in the slightest. The longest time my gaming rig was offline are the 15 seconds it takes to restart my router once in a blue moon.

I greatly enjoyed Starcraft 2 single-player. If D3 single-player offers a similar experience, I might buy it later on.
Wizard first (I fucking loved my sorceress in Diablo II...), if I'll get the game. And it's a big if....
Pro babely a monk.

I wish I was fast enough to claim Rasputin as my name in online play, not a chance ; D That's what first comes in mind from the character.

'Tis a shame we don't have paladins.

If someone is stupid enough to buy game equipment for real money then he deserves to be scammed.

I would have been interested in Diablo 3 few years ago. I loved D2 and played it extensively, mostly online. But now? I don't think so. The price tag on that game doesn't help it either.

Which is probably exactly why they're trying to keep it online/server side, whatever they're planning. Haven't really looked in to it. I assume they're copying it from WoW to some extent.

I wonder when we start seeing court cases of something happening in an online game, not involving real money?

"Your honor, that man there stole a loaf of bread from my shop, and then proceeded to kill all my customers! And he did so with a stolen Bastard Sword with +75 poison damage!"

Maybe there are such already, WOW and all...
