Fenixp: So first you say it's fine to dislike it, and then you say it's just the new cool thing to do. Consistency, man.
I guess it's the same thing for some people.
avatar
Elenarie: I played it few months ago, and was able to respec only once or twice.
There's a new 'event' - when you defeat all of the act bosses in Hell you get a free respec.
Repeat as many times as you wish.
avatar
Fenixp: Well, since you're arguments are getting borderline riddiculous, I'm just going to stop right here.
avatar
PoSSeSSeDCoW: That would be for the best.
And yet again, the GOG forums are an utter disappointment when it comes to heated internet discussions. Man, this is like reading C-Span ....

Somebody could have at least pointed out sexual insecurities of the other. Or recent intercourse with one of the others family members. But noo, I have to go back to the Steam forums for some action...

PoSSeSSeDCoW: That would be for the best.
You know... Now that SimonG mentioned it... The 'ridiculous' bit was kind of harsh on my part. Sorry about that, we clearly just have different priorities and I got tired of 'Diablo 3 DRM' discussion (which makes me that much more dumb for jumping on it again.)

Yea, agreed. The online always is not DRM, it is a feature.

:p

You know. You are not helping here!

Don't push it.

Aup yours, fanboy!

And yes, thank you.

DodoGeo: First off respecing made it easy, you still had to stick to your third choice, but my opinion is that it added nothing. Maybe just made it more accessible before D3 came out.

Itemization - Well you could have had an alright Necromancer putting all your points in Bone disciplines with equipment as a bonus (+2 Bone Spear, +3 Bone Spirit wand for example).
You can't do that in D3, because your missile/orb damage is determined by items ONLY.

And last I could be offended by that question with hundreds of hours spent playing D1/D2 and finishing D3 with a Barbarian and getting to the third act with the Wizard, stopped there without any intent on finishing.
While you are overjoyed with the game, even running your own one man topic about it, you have to understand that other people did play the game and actually did not like it.

FraterPerdurabo: Sorry, should have made it clearer - only the first sentence was aimed at you.
The rest were at Oldschool (the OP). My bad.

And yes, I am clearly enjoying this game and I understand that not everyone is. That's cool, but just don't talk nonsense about the game. Try to be remotely objective. Anyway, last time that I post on this topic outside of my own one man topic. Enjoy the bashing - I understand that it's the new cool thing to do.
In this review i was trying to be as objective as possible. Look, there are parts in this game that were alot of fun. It was never my intention to write a review to sway anyone from buying the actual product. Alot of people are having loads of fun with the game, however i guess i am in the minority here.

Finishing the game in 20 hours is conservative. I spent a bit over 8 hours in act 1 and 6 hours in act 2. Six hours to finish all of act 3 and a tacked on act 4 is very possible. And other thing please (in the future) if you want to debate me, then well, debate me. Calling someone a liar is just plain rude, yes i finished the game. It seems that you did not even bother reading my reply, now who is being objective now?

Bumping my own thread for further discussion, yes, i know that's a bit selfish, but after seeing unbelievable scores posted by professional reviewers like Polygon, Giant bomb, Eurogamer Portugal, Joystiq, Gameblog.fr and RPGamer score this game 100% I guess that mean that games like half-life 2 should be 150% or above. Even my beloved PC Gamer scored it at 90%. I guess this finally proves that review scores are bought and paid for.

That's bullshit. If nothing else, Diablo 3 is a very solid and fun game, it's just far from my or your personal preferences. Some people didn't enjoy half-life 2, you know.

amok: http://speeddemosarchive.com/gamelist/FullList.html

Super Mario can be beaten in 9 minutes? Horrible game.
Diablo 1? 3 min and 12 second...
You forgot Morrowind, not even 5 mins worth of play...
