I loved it, but it was way too easy. I beat the beta (killed the skeleton king) in 3 hours without dying once. Used the Barbarian.
i'm loving this game! perfect gameplay, graphics and sound.

i'm now seriously thinking about buying it despite the always-online requirement. and that's coming from somebody who hasn't bought a single UbiSoft game since they've started to require a persistent internet connection.

I played it today and I have to say.. it blew me away how much better technically it was than what I'd expected from watching gameplay videos.. They just don't do the game justice. This game is a masterpiece. and I'm no Blizzard fanboy.

I hate the always online requirement as much anyone, but especially after playing this beta...it's an easy must buy. There just better not be any connection issues after release.
Had to cash in my Chritamas early to get this on pre-order!
me and antimateria played co-op for a while , but i guess its stress testing lots of lag , disconnects even in single player mode ....was about destroy the skell king....sever shutdown message ....

hoping that the full game is polished and has way to expect disconections

hercufles: Wich you never get from blizzard.
Yes, you do. You can even play Starcraft 2 competitively, for free, with Terrans.

AndrewC: Where did you read that? I don't recall reading anything about paying for content and I seriously doubt it.
It is true, but those 'premium' maps and mods will be dev by third party devs. It is nothing to worry about, basically, just another platform for devs to sell their stuff on.

Thing Plants vs. Zombies in Starcraft 2 for a dollar or two.

hedwards: I'd be more concerned if Diablo was online only. But, I don't believe that they're still selling the original game, or at least not a part of the bundle, so I suspect that at some point they'll decide to discontinue providing the servers.

But, OTOH, they might not, compared with the ridiculous amount of money they're making on new games and the damage that shutting the servers down would cause, they might just leave them up until the company goes bankrupt.
I don't think they have a reason to shut down the servers... there aren't that many players, and as you've said, a bad PR is a lot worse than the small cost of running the server(s).

Yea, the base difficulty is easy, mainly to guide players throughout the story. IIRC from what was said at BlizzCon, there will be either 3 or 4 difficulties.

I suppose the other option would be to provide the server software for free, but I think maintaining the status quo is almost certainly the most beneficial one for Blizzard.

Contrary to what some people think, screwing over the customers isn't always the most profitable way of going about things.

You sure?
I think it's a few Starter Edition maps (custom games) and you can't actually ladder.
If not, it's a sweet deal.

You can't? Hmm... A friend said something like that, I must have misunderstood him. Sorry.
I've heard that DRM will be like that:

game online server generates quests -> pirates will not be able to play ever?

sounds like a good idea, btw...

keeveek: Hm... the installer said I need at least 15 GB free on my HDD... this is why i skipped.

Neobr10: Yep, it does, but its a lie, lol. If you want to get it, you have to be fast though, the download speeds were terrible for me, since everyone is trying to get it. But its very far from being 15GB, maybe the final version will be that big.
Pre-order of the game is 7.60 GB. I'm not sure if this will change before May 15. I'm assuming that this file is compressed.
So I played D3 beta. And it's quite good, actually. I wasn't amazed or anything, but it was solid, button mashing massacre.

Played only with Monk and Witch Doctor, because I don't have enough spare time to test more.

Lol, those are the two I played as well. Just finished the Witchdoctor. Only played the Monk up till the last quest.

Did feel a little more vulnerable as the Witch doctor but pretty sweet nonetheless. Love how you can chose skills for companions and party equip them as well.
