Thus far I am really, really enjoying it. It's a very solid game and the best that I've ever played in the genre (hack n' slash). I am nearing the end of the Act believe with a Wizard and I'm really enjoying the new skill system. I wasn't sure whether I was going to buy it initially, but this game is really solid and I will be getting it.

I don't think I'm going to try the other classes just yet because I'm out of the country and the game runs like shit on my laptop with minimal settings. I'll probably try them in a week when I get back home.
I've played through with the Warrior, Assassin and Monk so far and they've all been different experiences as far as hacking and slashing your way through dungeons go so really enjoying it! On to Mr. Voodoo next!

FraterPerdurabo: Well, the Lich King answered to your prayers. I was unable to log in in the afternoon because they had some authentication maintenance going on so I went out instead. And in the evening they had server maintenance. I had to fly off this morning so I'll see if I can play it on my laptop now!
Oh, yes, evil me!
Diablo 2 related, how does one respec his character? I used the respec option during the first act, but cannot find a NPC with similar offerings in the second act.

Is it not possible to respec multiple times?
The PvP system won't ship together with the game, and it will come in a future patch. They decided to remove it to be able to release the game faster and focus more attention on the campaign.

Isn't this what they did with WOW? That resulted in a pretty poor PVP system for quite a long time after they did release it. Hopefully they know better by now...

I thought they were adamant that respeccing would never be allowed, did they go back on their word? I know people who quit when they made leveling 4-5 times slower and still weren't allowing respecs.

No idea. Apparently the 1.12 or 1.13 patch added respect. From what I've read, apparently you get one respec point for single player use, and one when you switch to Hell difficulty. And that's it.

It sucks because I'm currently playing as a Paladin and I've put all my skill points into Holy Fire and Resist Fire. It adds quite a large Fire damage to my weapon, but I miss 25% of the times I try to hit. Now I get mutilated when a large number of enemies start attacking me, and I have to run around for the Fire aura to kill or weaken them. It took me two deaths and few hours of farming gold afterwards to kill Duriel. :/

I'd still use the passive skills, though, but only if I can transfer everything Fire related into Freeze, that would make the game much easier.
@kavazovangel: AFAIK the respec can be done only in act 1, but you can travel there in a matter of seconds through waypoints. Also you get 1 respec per 1 completion of the first quest in Act 1 on every difficulty, so 3 in total.
As for gaining another respec, you have to grind act bosses for some essences, I am not sure about their drop rates, but I guess they will be quite low. Andariel and Duriel drop the same essence, the other bosses drop different ones. If you have all four of them, transmute them in Horadric cube to get Token of Absolution and use it to get the respec.

@orcishgamer: Blizzard was adamant about many things and then did the opposite, WoW is full of such examples.

o.O

That means I have two respecs left right now? I'm on Act 3... so just return to the lady mage and I can respec?
If you are on the Hell difficulty (=completed The Den of Evil quest three times), then yes.

What about single player / normal (or whatever that is) difficulty?

EDIT: Nothing... Ah damn, I guess I'm stuck playing this character.

Same place where they launched SC2. I live about 15min walk away.
See you there Lenny!

wpegg?
So this crucifies the entire D2 progression system: http://www.sirlin.net/blog/2012/5/3/diablo-3s-ability-system.html

And I, for one, am not sad, as I think D2 did not age well and was always kind of ass (addictive in a way, but still ass, ass with awesome cut-scenes). I find it refreshing to see that even Blizzard can say, "yeah, that totally sucked, we were wrong about that."

So okay, good. I'm still no buying D3, but for those that are, maybe you'll be excited to see how they changed the system, or I can hear the cries of people saying it's for casuals now. Actually, I do sort of hope for some crying, that's going to be the most entertainment D3 can provide for me:)
