The bad guy is not Blizzard! The bad guy is Activision!

Since Activision bought Blizzard, Blizzard only makes crap like this!

From Dust is the only Ubisoft game not using it but From Dust was delayed because of 'piracy' concerns. For a $15 budget game. Yep that's just how stupid Ubisoft is.

Delixe: Ubisoft have already decided to go back to the always-online UbiDRM confirmed with Driver: San Francisco. They would have done this regardless of what Blizzard were doing. The amusing thing is as I said the torches and pitchforks were out for UbiDRM but because this is Blizzard people are more willing to accept it.

People keep saying this to protect the image of Blizzard. Like Bobby the bollocks came in and destroyed the company they love and the good people of Blizzard are constantly trying to fight against his high evilness.

Bullshit. Activision doesn't own Blizzard. Both Activision and Blizzard are owned by Vivendi Universal. Bobby can certainly suggest things to Blizzard but he can't make them do anything. Everything Blizzard have done since the launch of World of Warcraft was done because Blizzard wanted to do it, not because Bobby told them to. He suggested splitting up Starcraft 2 into three games but that's been his only confirmed input.

Well they said that From Dust wasn't using uplay's always online "feature", I don't recall they said that From Dust wasn't using uplay at all.

That's not true.Activision-Blizzard is just a holding company that owns both Activision and Blizzard. Blizzard itself makes the decisions regarding the publishing of the games they publish, not Activision.

You're talking about me, right? :D The game was supposed to have local saves, similar to SC2. Apparently they changed this. :|

They improved the security in WoW and SC2... Yes, there are still some cheaters in SC2, but you barely notice them these days. Also, now Blizzard ban your whole Battle.Net account if you're found cheating, so the cheaters are really lowering in numbers.

Actually, Vivendi bought / merged with Activision. Nowadays, Vivendi is the big guy, and Activision and Blizzard operate as separate companies under it.

Activision Blizzard is just for financial reports / investments, not directly related to both Activision's and Blizzard's game development teams.

But at what cost? They're punishing everybody even those that don't benefit so that they can keep the multiplayer game clean. Personally, I'm not impressed, I'd rather have mods available and the ability to play without having an internet connection.

Locking down the singleplayer game has nothing to do with the multiplayer experience.

The best thing about Blizzard imo came from Warcraft 3 and battle.net, the games that were created there, a cops and robbers, a vampire hunt, dragonball z, i miss those days

It does if people are retarded and want to take a single-player character online rather than creating it online to begin with (hint to them: play in password-protected games and you can be alone even with your online character).

Kotick is president and CEO of Activision Blizzard. Which, as the name suggests, has rather a strong influence over both companies.

That said, you're still completely right about Blizzard. They made their priorities clear long before Bobby bollocks started barking orders at them. I strongly doubt there's anything they've done since that has gone against their sensibilities.
