I dont understand the hate. D3 was pretty good game of its sort - and no one is forced to use AH (i certainly didnt), so whats the big deal? Especially now that its being closed? Shouldnt "Haters" now be going "Yay" - but instead just more hate?

You were not strictly forced, but the loot system was entirely driven by that... the fact that they are planning completely new generation rules for "loot 2.0" in a forthcoming patch, is no coincidence.

Some hate the AH and don't care for the always online, some don't care for the AH but hate the always online... to the latter this is new fuel for rage since Blizzard is removing one of the few excuses for having to play connected in single player yet they refuse to lift the connection requirements.

Personally, I dumped the game because i was more annoyed by the awful loot system, so that is a mildly good news for me... we'll see.

Nostalgia glasses, against change, don't like unfairness with people who have real money etc..

I wasn't that bothered with AH as much as the always online but considering I have decent internet it never occurred to me aside from the early XX Errors but while Diablo 3 is a decent hack'n'slash it's all there is.

They really should add an offline play now that AH is going away but I suppose it's not enough money in it for Blizzard to want to take that route.

Thats actually probably the biggest thing i dont understand.

Does anyone feel down if their neighbour uses IDDQD while playing Doom? Sure D3 is multiplayer (IF you want to play it that way) ...but at the end of the day D1-D3 are all pretty much "individual sports" really.

How, exactly? The SP in SC2 is just as developed as in SC1.

The story was much, much worse, so they must have gutted the writing team or at least not hired anyone competent. In fact now that I think of it, the last decent story Blizzard have done in a game is Frozen Throne, since then it's all been pure derp.

No, as long as the economy is shared people feel that it matters and well while I agree with them in theory it didn't bother me as I didn't really play that serious, only a few weeks with some friends.

Regarding sales of Diablo 3, I read it was after 2 weeks only 1 million copies that were given from WoW subscription while they actually sold at least 5 million copies. I'll return with source as soon as I find it.

...but if youre playing by yourself or your friends and dont deal with auction house - youre not actually taking part in any economy and nor is your gaming experience really affected by it. Sure some gameplay design is result of thinking that x % of players do something in AH - but if youre not buying nor selling there, then there is no direct consequences.

So really, what does it matter if someone else can and does spend 1000usd on some stupid diablo trinket?
