I'd love to join you guys. I'd probably go with a Chain Lightning/Frozen Orb Sorceress, which I did to great success a few years ago.

Network lag is the big issue. The connection I share with my parents is only 3 down/1 up.
Out of curiosity is this going to be over battlenet or what type of MP game. I might need to try to find my battlenet account details.

Open Battle.net.

Battle.net would likely be the easiest by far (no messing around with other software and accounts), but I'm sure we can get a Hamachi or other gaming VPN up if preferred.

and what is a ladder character?

also got my log in details, only server available to me is EU.

I have no fucking clue what im doing lol
In an attempt to join an MP game reaver accidentally opened a rift in the "multiplayer time continuum" casting him to a virtual Diablo world, kind of like what happened to Flynn in "Tron".
I would argue in favor of playing on a Realm, for a few reasons.

1. Multiplayer is an objectively better experience.
2. I have a couple computers I could play from and copying save files is annoying.
3. Ladder-only runewords.

Unless there's a version of PlugY that works on v1.13d?

Ladder characters are only available on the Closed Battle.net. They have some unique benefits, like ladder-only runewords. Once the ladder-season is over, they will turn into regular characters, but keep their ladder-only stuff.

That's okay. Most of us are from the EU anyhow, so we're going to use that one.

I was thinking about that (especially the runewords), but I really like the ability to continue playing in SP. Let's see what the majority says.

I wouldn't know. I've never used it.

One detriment of battle.net play is that you need to log in every once in a while to keep the characters and account, which means that I've lost my characters more than once (I play for a little while, then do something else for a few months, so when I return not only have my characters become inactivated, which happens first, but my battlenet-classic account has been deleted). Despite that, even when I've played solo, I've more often done so in password-locked online games.

Either way is fine by me though.

Maighstir: No, 8.30pm British Summer Time, which is 7.30pm GMT.

20.30 should be fine ill be ready in about 20 minutes so will be killing time with a few beers till this happens
Okay, so I am ready. Now just going to go play a little Diablo until 8!
Umm, as for play style I want to try an offensive Necro. Bone Shield and Arrow to the enemy!

And good thing, too. Since I edited it a couple times, I was afraid you'd respond before I got it correct (it was a few hours ago now, but every once in a while responds can arrive quickly).
