One thing that bothers me is the fact that some developers only release their most known classics. For example, Epic released the Unreal series but not Jazz Jackrabbit. Apogee released Duke Nukem 3D and Manhattan Project but not the two first games. What do you think?

It makes sense right now. They only want to release what they know will sell while they test the initial reaction to a new site.

A lot of the older titles from Epic are under the "Epic Megagames" title IIRC.
There is a fair amount of call for some of the catalogue here and on Steam. I'd hazard a guess, Epic (and others) want to 'forget ' about their past a little. Attention is mainly to new games/IP, and while GOG handles titles from this site, the noise levels on others (such as their own) will rise.
Also: agreeing with Bansama. The current releases are the ones most likely to give them the best return $$, and are the more well known titles.

Yeah, this is what devs and publishers do. They test the waters with an unknown online games retailer based in Poland with new games, to see if they like it. It worked with Steam, where games like Doom came out first... then you saw Commander Keen. Now? Almost the whole catalog, baby. GOG will go through this soon. The good thing about this place is the timing. Now, we're in a shitconomy. Companies would do ANYTHING to get games in the hands of gamers for the money.

i don't know why they don't release the smaller games too, they don't have anything to lose with those...

Sometimes its not about what you could lose, they don't know if they actually have anything to gain, so they "test the waters" with a bigger game first.

I'm hoping this will change. Eventually, GoG will run out of new publishers to add, so to get more games they will have to dig beyond the initial batch offered by the publisher. That's something I look forward to, there are tons of games by publishers who are already on GoG that I would like to see here.

This sucks. I mean Blitzkowicz is cool, Iron Maidens are badass, the Cyberdemon is hell yeah awesome, and a wasteland driving game is win, but I want the kid with a laser gun!!! IN FULL 3D!
If the Simpsons can get the 3D treatment, so should Keen

I know, it was kind of fecious, I was explaining their idea behind why they probably don't want to release them, because the amount of profit they could see from re-releasing these games and continuing to support them, does not put them at a place where the game would at least pay for itself.

By that logic, GoG should just shut down right now, shouldn't it?
