What this proves is that the creative team behind Deus Ex as of now, knows nothing of their target consumer base. The Vita would have been a wiser move.

Cormoran: My favourites are the repurposed Deus Ex quotes. also LOTS of "I didn't ask for this", "yeah RIP" and "What a shame"
That's some fine sense of humor.
I never asked for this.

Seriously, fuck this shit.

StingingVelvet: I don't care about missing out here, I would never play this type of game with touch controls anyway. What I care about is them acting like a real new game was coming and then tossing this garbage out.

Maybe we see a real announcement at E3.
Come to think of it, has there been *any* example of an FPS done right on a device with touch controls? I too felt a little led on by Square Enix over this, but if this is a game that's going to be designed from the ground up for tablets/smartphones, I wouldn't hold my breath over a PC port of this game being any good.

If they're going to announce anything surrounding this, I agree that it's probably going to be a whole new game that's properly designed for desktop gaming.

Syndicate is more of a squad-based tactics game with a "strategic" map and upgrade system between missions.

But now that you mention it, a management game in a dark cyberpunk city would be pretty cool. But a cyberpunk Dungeon Keeper clone with robots would be even better :)

Aningan: Deus Ex: The Fail!

Don't own any iDevice so I'm not happy :(

Fever_Discordia: Heh I was just checking through the thread to see if anyone had said that already - a winner is you!
Oh god I'm late.

Actually an alternate explanation is that a different team within the studio are working on this while the Human Revolution team are working on a proper sequel. Square Enix's goal could be to keep the brand alive until then.

Which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either, based on what's been shown and said about this project. >_>

Yeah, they are removing the necessity of hiding in shadows and other elements, wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being just an action-game like Dishonoured
