I'm a big fan of Deus Ex, and it's on a great sale right now, so I've bought some copies of DX to give away to several of my friends. And why not, I'll give away one of them here. Now, as you may know, there's a sequel which is also on the same sale, but this sequel has been on the receiving end of a lot of hate. Mostly by people such as yours truly. So, instead of that, I'll add another copy of DX to the giveaway.

To enter, you need to do only 2 fairly simple things:

1- Why do you want to play this game? I love the game, so I want to give it to someone who will appreciate it. If you want it just to have it on the shelf in hopes some random day you'll feel like playing it, I probably don't want to give it to you. If you've heard about it and really want to try it this christmas, that gives you more points to win this giveaway. So convince me, why should I give it to you, instead to any others?

2- Explain why you couldn't afford 3$ to get this game. Because you <i>can</i> get it for that price. So, how come you want to play, yet you didn't pay 3$ for it?

Because this is an "spread the love" giveaway, I not only won't ask for reasons why you don't like the sequel, but I also sincerely promise not to give extra points to those who don't like it either.

1) I would like to play this game because it is simply one of the best RPGs ever! I had the chance to play it few months ago and loved it.

2) I can afford to pay 3$ for this game (I won't lie, especially while I can have my own pc as well as the internet =)). I simply wish that the game's price can lower a bit...It is Xmas and all and in the bundle offered today, I am only interested in Deux Ex 1 (I heard the sequel was not as good as the original, so I'm not interested, and I have already played the Thief series), so paying 04.99$ for it...02.49$ would be great instead (current price of the Witcher 1)

Just to make it clear, I posted a link on my 2nd point linking to my post in the classified thread where I offer to exchange a DX copy for a 2.99$ game. Which essentially means you can buy DX for 3$.

The idea is to get DX to as many people as possible, so those who can get it on the sale get it there and those who can't, have a free copy from me. I originally didn't want to start the thread until today's sale was over, but I figured if I did so many people wouldn't know of my 3$ offer until it was too late... that's why I added the 2nd clause to the giveaway here.

But sincerity is a virtue on my book, I'll you that much.

This is a game that I have heard a lot about & am really interested in trying.
I DID buy it on Steam, before it came to GOG, but have never managed to get it working (Just one more reason to love GOG, they just run, no hassle!).

Due to Christmas, kids, life etc, I can't buy ANYTHING at the moment.
Payday in 2 days...... Seems like forever!!

I just realized I didn't set any deadline for this. Since I'm heading back home on Tuesday night, I'll set it on Tuesday 3GMT (when the GOG offer changes). At that point I'll choose the winners on a completely arbitrary manner.

1. I played it a long time before, but never finished it. I usually don't like FPS-RPGs, but I'd like to give it a second chance.

2.I don't have 3$ because... I don't. And if I do get 3$ or more before the GOG sale ends, I'm probably gonna buy something that's higher on my wishlist, like HOMM 2...

It doesn't require Capsule to play. I'll try to put some time aside to verify it, but my experience with Capsule from one game I installed through it is: (a) it's crap; (b) it's just a download manager.

Some more details (even more details): I copied a game from my main PC to my HTPC. The HTPC does have Capsule installed, but it wasn't running and the copied game was put in an unrelated location. It ran fine once I copied the Securom key from my other PC. I assume that for a DRM free game it's possible to just copy.

The question that remains is whether Deus Ex is DRM free, and my guess would be that it's also Securom protected, because that's what GamersGate says. That's worth checking out.

Still, you should be able to "play it day or night with or without internet."

Further edit: I googled some more and saw it said that Securom is inherent in Capsule. I know that will put DRM haters off although I'm not sure of how much of a limitation it is in practice and would have to check further.

Not entering because DX is not the game for me, but thanks for spreading the joy.

1. I want to play Deus Ex because I never had a chance when it initially came out. Many consider it to be the greatest game of all time, and as someone who loves PC games it seems like a crime that I haven't played DX. If I win the giveaway, the game will find a nice home on my hard drive and in many hours of gameplay, not simply on my GOG shelf swarmed in an endless backlog. I am ready to play!

2. The game was actually $5 for me since I didn't own some of the other games in yesterday's bundle. If it had just been $3 I might have been able to bite (I didn't see your trade offer in the other thread), but I have a small (single-digits) budget set for the sale. I'm not making very much right now, I've been eating cheap food like baked beans and Ramen noodles to save a little money each week.

I have Deus Ex bundle from Gamersgate, and I recently installed Deus Ex GOTY to check the drm. In case it would give me some problems I would have to buy the GOG's promo pack. But to my surprise I don't get any notification that Securom was installed (maybe silently?) and the installer didn't prompt me to enter the serial number. So I guess the game didn't come with any drm and after I installed the high res texture packs and some fixes the game runs great.

1. I purchased Human Revolution via Steam during their massive sale, and have had a ton of fun with it, so I might as well give the original a try!

2. That 3$ is money I could be spending on Christmas gifts or (To be honest. :P) other games GOG's discounting.
