Ok guys, I know I said I would host another giveaway when DX went on sale again, but I wasn't expecting another one this soon. So I'll have to eat my word, sorry. But I'll leave the 3$ trade open again, in the meantime.

Spacechem is indeed good. However, it's basically programming, and after programming for work I don't usually feel like programming more on a game. so I haven't gotten too far with it.

Glad to see you enjoying it, Rodzaju. To answer your questions, you will find some chargers around, but the game is designed to put you as an agent constantly on the move. By this I mean you will not usually have a stable base to keep your inventory at, and there will be no shops as you might be used to from other RPGs. You won't be able to load up with big quantities of prod batteries, and you will certainly run out if you try knocking out every enemy with the prod. Even more so if you don't aim for the head and need 2-3 zaps to take them out, and the baton (the other melee weapon to knock out enemies) sucks (unless you improve your hand to hand). If you want to stick to the prod, you'll have to avoid some of the enemies.

As much as I love the game, it's not without it's flaws and the age does show. The game unfortunately hardly ever makes a distinction between killing and knocking out enemies, and in fact NPCs reactions often depend on triggers that are not intuitive. Castle Clinton on the second mission is one painful example of this, but I don't want to spoil it for you. With this I mean you could get a few enemies killed with the crowbar so long as it doesn't break immersion for you, and not be penalized for it on conversations. You'll definately need something other than the electric prod if you want to take all enemies out, but it is also possible to finish the whole game without using weapons of any sort. Just try things out and go with whatever approach you enjoy.

Finally, there is no time limit on missions, so you typically can take as long as you wish to explore each scenario. And it pays off to do so, there's always back doors or alternate routes assuming you can find them. And on that note, make sure you have a candy bar/soy food at the beginning of the 2nd mission.

P1na: Even more so if you don't aim for the head and need 2-3 zaps to take them out,
If you get them from behind WHILE THEY ARE STANDING, NOT WALKING, 1 up the ass does the trick.

Then keep at it. It's fun, after all.
I know I shouldn't doble post, but this deserves it: the giveaway is renewed!

An anonymous donor just sent me 5 (yes, 5!) codes for giving away here. I'll refer to him as Olentzero from now on, as I'm not a big fan of the coke guy and it's a local christmas figure. If I have to look up Kringle on google, why not return the favour?

So, the giveaway is resumed, and the new winners will be chosen on the 25th. Rules remain the same. My only concern is that people will not know that the giveaway has been resumed and ignore the thread, but I'll take the risk.

All hail Olentzero!
Not in for obvious reasons, but a bit of advertising:

Thanks for your generosity (and thanks also to the mystery donor!)

I was tempted to have a go the first time, but I'm not going to answer that second question because I find it intrusive and embarrassing so no entry from me, but I wish everybody else good luck.

The 2nd question was meant as help for me to gauge about who to give it to. I'd rather not give it to someone who, like myself, is stockpiling games for future play; or to someone who could get it on the sale but decided to bet on the giveaway instead. But I understand what you mean.

So let's do this, for the second giveaway it's not mandatory to answer the 2nd question. I've offered Olenzero to choose the winners himself, and while the second question does help me in choosing, you still have a chance of convincing either of us to pick you with the first answer alone.

That's doubly nice of you mate =)

It's a shame we can't edit topic titles with a 'more codes added' or something like that, but I'll give this thread a bump if I see it slip down.

(Don't count me in because I had the good fortune to ninja a DE:HR code this week, so I'm doing pretty well for augmented cyber-fun anyway)

Again, good luck to everybody else and thanks to both of you for giving away a classic gaming experience!
Just chiming again (not an entry) to thank you and the mysterious 'Olentzero'! :)
A bump for Friday
Yep, it's a pity I can't edit the thread name. And I'm strangely reluctant to starting a new one, for whatever reason.
BUMP!
Ok, at Olentzero's suggestion, here's the modified 2nd question: Please, explain why would you rather buy another game, than this one?

Hope that one's better, folks. I'll be updating the opening post for with it, and I suggest people who already entered (for I understand the ones who entered the first one are still interested) to reply to this one now.
BUMP
