Not in, because I still got the original Deus Ex CDROM. You know? One of those shiny round things people used to put in their computers? ;-)
But +1 to any one who promotes one of the best games ever.
Not in as I still have my original boxed copies, but +1 to you sir. :)
Not in already own it, but +1 for you :)
I'd like to report that I successfully installed a DRM-free copy from GMG. The game indeed comes with Securom, but I installed New Vision and that replaced the executable and got me a game I could run freely. So if you intend to install New Vision anyway it's safe to buy the game from GMG.
1) I would like to play it because I played DE: Revolution and really liked the atmosphere. I never had a chance to play the first one when it came out so I am excited to hear that GOG offers this game. I only buy games from GOG (I refuse to buy anything with DRM, sorry steam).

2) I can afford $3, it's just that I have many games on my wishlist. I play through just about every game I buy so it's a big time commitment. If I had a copy of DE, I would play through it. Otherwise, it may sit on my wishlist indefinitely as I may be buying newer titles (that are getting put into my wishlist) and simply never get to it.
Not in, just bumping for the sake of it.

I do. I actually have one of those, in a strange small plastic box that tends to get broken at the joint. My grandpa told me stories about them being used before those fancy DVD boxes without space for a half-decent manual, but I never really believed them.

Actually, I have 2 retail copies at home: My old one, and a new one I bought to gift some of my friends yet was rejected. Rejected! Still, more honest than the guy who took the gift and never actually installed it. I sometimes wonder why I'm still friends with him; probably because he's a better guy than I make him out to be.

Random DX fact: When I first played it, I didn't go further than Hong Kong. The load screens were so fucking long I actually was reading a book while the game loaded; but it eventually killed the fun. It was the first game I played when I upgraded my hardware, and it made the looong load screens in DX3 all the more nostalgic.

... Damn, maybe I should have asked for that kind of story ... Or not, as this was for new players... whatever, too late now
bumping to counter the spammer, folks should see this, not spam.
Not in, as I own this true gem of a game already (thanks, kazmar!), but thanks and +1 for your generosity, P1na!

BTW, I don't despise Invisible War. Obviously, it isn't anything compared to the first installment of the series, but I enjoyed playing it as a FPS at the time. However (obviously), I would have preferred that they would have continued improving and expanding what had been achieved with the first title, rather than downgrading it to a shooter.

I wonder how you feel toward Deus Ex:HR, P1na? (just curious, I haven't the chance of play it myself) ;)

I already went about my basic feelings about DX 2 here, and I'll try not to polute the thread with them. I simply had absurdly high expectations. And was badly disappointed.

Regarding DX:HR, it was quite the opposite. I was cautious about it... well, I expected a piece of crap, to be honest. So I got myself a pirate copy, played through it, and actually enjoyed the experience; so I bought it. I think the joke at the beginning (don't worry, I remember the code) put me on the right estate of mind to enjoy the rest. Granted, there are many design decisions I don't agree with: direct confrontation with bosses feel out place (and lethal for pure stealthy builds) and things like the money/shops are plain retarded (you get loads of money yet basically nothing to spend it on). But it's generally a good game.

Thanks for the reply! I knew the stealth vs bosses issue but not the money vs shops one. Glad to hear you enjoyed HR, I prefer to rely in the opinion of fellow gamers instead of just reading 'pro' reviews... ;)

Glad I could help. I could go on with other issues, such as giving XP for hacking a door and not for bothering to find the code, but it would be lengthy and it would best be kept for the DX thread. Just keep in mind that while enjoyable, it's still no DX1. And I did go to it with rock bottom expectations. Do ask if you think it would be useful, tomorrow I'll be spending the night on an airport so I'll have plenty of time to spare.

Also, while it took me the whole game to decide to buy DX:HR, I needed only the first mission to buy Dishonored. But I digress.
