Smannesman: At least we'll know all about any bugs in the game?

GhostQlyph: Speaking of that, I'm not far in due to a restart and the single bug I've seen but -- well, I've seen only one bug!

Saves corrupted. I'm not sure why they did, but they corrupted something awful. Two freeze-crashes in a row. Verifying the cache fixed it perfectly, though.

Also, the dev team seems to be very aware that a single misstep will have them flayed alive by the community, their release-day patch to fix a relatively rare problem with ATI drivers that could cause crashing practically included an apology.
The saves got corrupted because of the new patch that came out, i think since it had to do something with save files

That is a nasty bug.
They do seem to listen to their customers quite well for a change, after people complained about the highlighting system they immediately made it optional.
And they didn't implement the regional lock-outs, although that probably had nothing to do with what people online were saying. And that ATI patch was another example of them being nicely customer-centric.

This was before that patch.
Game is actually decent so far.

I stayed up way too late. The story is actually interesting. The object highlighting doesn't bother me too much, but I turned it off anyway. Also turned of post processing because it gave everything a film grain (like Mass Effect) which I didn't like. Or maybe that's just my system being weird.

Other than that, no real complaints. I didn't like some of the default controls but at least you can change them!
Did anyone watch the making-of yet ? I'd like to watch it but am hesitant, because it might contain spoilers.
Can anyone confirm or deny that there are storyline spoilers in the making-of video ?
My only real beef so far is with the cover system. I find that when I try to peek and fire at a downward angle over the top of objects, I end up firing into the cover object instead of where I'm aiming. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it occurs, I have to reposition myself (un-cover, re-cover) repeatedly until I can make the shot over the object. I'm not sure if it's a combination of crouch and cover, or if this only affects certain areas. Any thoughts on this?

I did the exact same thing. I stayed up until 5am playing... And I'm still only a bit into Detroit (the side quests are pretty interesting so far - though sometimes I'm wishing there was a chat log, I wanted to read something that Frank told me earlier that wasn't written down).

I agree. It actually seems to be more of a collision detection issue or hit box being slightly bigger than what is visible.

Yep. You can watch it. There are no spoliers at all.
It's more about how they found the company, build it and fought for the project with managers Eidos Europe.
Also just basic ideas about the game, and hints that by reading mails and etc you will see links to previous games in the universe, so if your are fan - don't miss them (mails I mean, movie is crap, about nothing, 40 mins wasted).
Gamestop is removing OnLive codes from its retail copies. I didn't realize that Gamestop had a streaming service.

You're American, shouldn't you say "Gamestop is allegedly removing OnLive codes..." or get sued? ;)
And yes, that is a terrible joke.
If I read the article correctly there are actually some guys with half a brain working for Gamestop, because some people did get their codes.
I absolutely hate stores that mess with the packaging btw, I only buy from retail outlets that leaves the sealed plastic on.

If they remove the code it isn't new anymore because the package has been opened. Yet they don't sell used PC games. Gotta love old Gamestop sometimes.
I love the number of people in the comments on that article saying that Gamestop is in the right.
I have it. It may be one of the best RPGs I've ever played. At any rate, it's the best RPG that has the name "Square" attached to it.

Seriously?
I didn't read all the comments.. actually I read the article on RPS I think, but still.
One guy said it pretty succinctly, he said something like "They have the right to decide what products to sell, but they don't have the right to remove items from the packaging.".
That I can agree with.

Maybe in the future some store will start removing the rotating plate from microwaves and sell those back to the customers. :P
