Destructoid published article about GOG yesterday - GOG: Indies, nostalgia, and the evils of DRM. Enjoy the read :).
Interesting read. Thanks for linking.

Wonder what the 'secret' is
Cool link, cheers +1

I'm thinking a cross-platform launcher of some sort, maybe an expansion of the downloader, given the opening for a Qt Linux developer. Or a huge new publisher.

Yeah, the last paragraph made me curious.
For now, Rambourg and his cohorts are focused on signing more day-one games, finding more unreleased titles within the libraries of their partners, and working on a secret project which will launch next year. Rambourg promises me that it will "knock my socks off.

I hope they didn't mean some "secret" Cyberpunk 2077 GOG edition :p.

So much mystery in gog-speak means "nothing special, but we had to say something"

This is definitely a possibility. GOG has overpromised before. :)
I'm still looking for my sock from last time :P
Luckily I can still find my socks, since I didn't need to clean my brain off of my wall after "mind-blowing" May wasn't very mind-blowing.

Their super big announcements have been little underwhelming, so I assume it is going to be something expected. On the other hand, when GOG does release something surprising, it is darn sweet. Jade Empire comes to mind.
Good article. What always annoys me regarding old games is that people always seem to use "nostalgia" like some kind of insult or criticism, as if people are not capable of making an objective judgement about a game today because they played it years ago. It's complete BS, I've played plenty of really bad old games (when they were released) and I sure as hell don't now look at them as gems because a great deal of time has passed.

All games have flaws and none are perfect, but a great deal of the old games on GOG are legitimately fantastic and hold up to this day. Especially when you consider games like Wizardry VII, Clouds of Xeen, Realms of Arkania, or even the Bullfrog games like Syndicate, Theme Hospital or Magic Carpet. These are games which to this day are unmatched in their respective genres.

Someone uses "nostalgia" as a snide insult again and I'm getting my chainsaw from the shed.

We will soon getting an announcement that they are preparing an announcement of a forthcoming announcement of a possibility that a game may or may not arrive.
DRM... MUST... DIE!

Er... Thanks for the article ;)

I'm curious what the secret project is. A website, a feature, a new project completely...?
Can't wait to hear more about the secret project. I'm hoping it's something related to classic gaming, like doing their own emulation for classic console/arcade games like DotEmu.
