I am going to tell a tale so epic I cannot stop writing it until it is finished. Haha. JK. I am going to talk about one of the things that brings out the worst in games-

PUZZLES

There are a few things that can break or break a good game. One of them and one of them or ONLY 1 of them is puzzles. You see combat is the sole emphasis on games. Solving problems through combat. If you want a little life simulation and stuff that is fine. Strategy through combat is fine too.

But absolutely no puzzles. From now on, and hopefully soon I will be erasing it from your vocab. Pretty soon I will become english teacher and puzzles will be deleted from usage. Any that disobey dealt with harshly.

The reason why is that puzzles take away the emphasis on COMBAT

They take away the emphasis on STRATEGY

They take away the emphasis on ROLEPLAYING

And they take away the emphasis on ACTION

So as now there will be a process called Purge. I am going to delete the puzzles from mainstream developers and indie developers and go through a training program where they learn how to act like a NORMAL human being.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Paid for by Hershey's,

We didn't do our job right.
Pier Solar and that damned wizard puzzle series. Lookin' at you.
Hard puzzles just need to be skippable with a penalty (or a missed bonus).
I like them, but it's bad when you get completely stuck and need to check a walkthrough.
Stupid puzzles, instead, are just a waste of time..

Sorry but puzzles are important for point & click adventures. It's called problem solving :)
Unskippable cutscenes are stupid. There is no good reason I should not be able to skip your cutscene.
No. No, I don't agree with what you just said about puzzles, and "combat is the sole emphasis on games" is an incredibly limiting sentiment.

I consider this claim particularly absurd in case of RPGs. What is roleplaying? Killing monsters over and over? Fetch quests? Tons of friggin' fetch quests? If there's one thing I miss in RPGs it's some sort of problems that require the slightest bit of mental effort. If puzzles are done right and fit into the context they ARE part of the roleplaying. I just don't want puzzles to be too obscure and immersion breaking.

Zombi U's Boris circus is basically trial and error gameplay sequence and when you die you repeat from the start of the sequence again. This is not gameplay. This is stupidity!
No puzzles at all? I take it you've never played a Silent Hill game. :P
I understand the hatred for puzzles, though this post is clearly overblown for humor. If you've captured the Babel Fish or mapped a maze you know that you don't want to have to do that sort of stuff again. It's probably part of the reason why adventure games aren't that big today. But puzzles CAN be well done, and it's amazing when they are. It's just difficult to do that.

Oh well, it could be worse. Like Gods Will be Watching. I haven't played it yet but I've read in tons of places that you can and will usually lose there despite making optimal decisions (in a game that is apparently completely about decision making). That's a completely new level of trial & error, one where you can't even always optimize. :P

Being forced to use a SHITTY smartphone to play parts of PC/PS/XB game... That's the shittiest shit I've ever heard so far of all the stupid developers shit.

Agreed. The one case where I've been affected so far was GTA V. I simply am not going to train my dog if the only way to do it is by using an app. For frigg's sake, what idiot had that idea?
Judging from the quality of your typical AAA game nowadays... I'd say someone has already stolen all the puzzles

Dear God, that's a horrifying concept...
