Kristian: I believe there was a case to the contrary? Where GOG told people in X days(or hours or whatever) game Y will be removed from your library?

Edit:

I am not saying it is a likely scenario but the mere possibility makes me want to download/backup ALL Atari games from GOG.
I recall them warning us that Perimeter and Soldiers: Heroes of World War II were being removed, as well as placing them on sale, before the were pulled. They were later restored to the catalog, of course. Alas, I am too lazy to search for the post and am unable to link to them even if I could.
On the subject of Atari, here are some dates for auctions of certain franchises:

Makes me wonder if GOG's having the Rollecoaster Tycoon series on sale now in anticipation of what could happen....

It seems that won't happen, according to Wikipedia:

"The company was bought by Activision on May 3, 2005, and is now a wholly owned subsidiary."

Well that explains why they've been making Skylanders... I wonder who it'll end up with? Pleasedon'tbeGearboxpleasedon'tbeGearbox.

Kristian: That is certainly good to know. But I still can't shake this feeling of remembering some GOG official telling people to download a certain game within 48 hours or something like that because it was gonna be permanently removed from their GOG library.
Colin McRae 2005 and TOCA had that warning, and they were the first games to be removed with a forewarning. They can still be downloaded, but the advice of "Back up your games" is still true, for all games.
Only title that has been removed from libraries so far is Imperial Glory (Mac) since GOG didn't have the rights to sell it.
