Hey there,
I'm just curious about games that people want modern day sequels to. The older games more than recent games as saying "I want a sequel to Unreal Tournament 3" is just showing what a moron you are.
And I'm hoping to remember some good old games.
So list some games, give some reasons, try to educate your GoG brothers (and female brothers) about some great classics.
Anyway to kick things off:
Blood
I LOVED Blood. The protagonist, the one-liners, Flare gun. You name it, it had it all. A modern technology version would be great. Blood 2 was a tad mediocre. However I think that if this was done it would be more F.E.A.R. and less Duke Nukem. Blood was not a balls to the wall horror. It was a light-hearted gore-fest. With a Voodoo doll.
Skyrealms of Jorune: Alien Logic
I REALLY loved this game. No sequel was made however. I enjoyed the light "RPG" elements with spell choosing, growing little digging things from giant florescent eggs and talking to ... weird things. It also had an interesting universe.
Dungeon Keeper
First was great. Second was better (Flame on!!). Third could have been something else. Evil Genius is fun, but not the same. Nothing like having an obsequious voice with fantasic voice acting saying how evil you are and how goody-good the good guys are.
Requiem: Avenging Angel
I vaguely recall liking this, but I've not been able to play it for some time due to not having DX6. But was a good diea, cool powers, and I don't think too many games at the time had a sorta "Hub" area to wander around in between righteous arse kicking.
Crusader: No Remorse/Regret/Sequel
This was carnage at it's best. No story, no plan, no mercy. No remorse or regret either for that matter. I've NEVER got this working on XP
I've tried Shadowgrounds and it's not bad, but is more akin to Diablo (sorta) than crusader.
Syndicate
Awesome-ness. Syndicate Wars was a bit dumb, but the original is still fun to play and the Atlantic Accelerator is still possibly the hardest level in any game, ever. Or I'm just crap at it.
Star Control 2 and StarFlight 2
I've grouped these together as are similar games. And I've listed that I want good sequels to these sequels as Star Control 2 already has a sequel which is kinda crap. But more games to this vein would be awesome.
I'm sure I could think of more if I put my mind to it, but come on people. Let gaming wishes and nostalgia fly!

Hmmmm, a Blood sequel would be really awesome. I asked myself why they didn't do it and maybe it's because Blood 2 was a bit crappy and didn't sell very well. Then F.E.A.R. came up and Monolith is all about desks and offices, not really Blood type.
Dungeon Keeper (my favourite RTS game ever), Arcanum (the magical/technological world was just great), Little Big Adventure (one of the most charming games I ever played).
I'd definitely like to see a sequel or update PC version of the game "Deuteros" that came out originally on the Commodore Amiga.
For those who never came across it, it was a game where you had to colonize & mine the planets and moons of our Solar System for various resources like gold, silver, silicon & carbon. You also researched enhancements like new ship designs and better engines and had to build factories to build the components from the resources you had mined.
The great thing about the game was you were often put in a "chicken and egg" situation that needed you to stop and think how you were going to achieve the next thing you needed to do. For example, you found the first planet or moon that had platinum as a mineable resource but, having no platinum stocks, you needed some platinum to build a base on the planet before being able to start mining the platinum on it. (In the end, it turned out that you had to research an asteroid mining pod for one of your ships, build it and equip it, then leave your ship in the asteroid field scanning asteroids until it found one that contained platinum that you could mine and bring back.)
All the while, of course, an computer opponent was building his colonies and attacking you so you also needed to focus on defending your colonies. Plus your ship pilots had experience levels that they had to reach before they could be pilots on bigger and faster ships as well.
From those aspects it really is a very immersive game and the pacing was excellent. Time only advanced when you clicked an icon on the screen so you had plenty of time to sit back and think about how you'd get over each hurdle you were faced with.
Flashback or Another World would be cool. I know there was a 3d remake of Flashback (Fade to Black) back in 1995, but it was crap!
Even an updated 2d version would be cool :D
I would like to see a sequel to Outlaws. Also a modern makeover for Conquest of the New World Deluxe Edition, not changing game play at all, just Graphics, screen res and such.
Another vote for a sequel (a true sequel) to Syndicate. Hell I'd go for an MMO of it and I can never seem to last for more than 3 months on any mmo.
I agree with you Karlallen that SWars was half baked. Also I'd love to see the Blood series in its entirety here.
Sequals i think should be made are for the following.
Hostile waters.
Great game with a lot of potential. The soul capture chips of your troops novel idea.
Arcanum
Great game deserves a sequal.
Deus by Silmarils, pretty great and complicated game.
I wonder if any of you remember or even played that one.
Here's a bit more info http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/590/Deus.html.
Definately deserves a modern sequel or at least a remake.
What do you guys think? ;)

Beyond Good And Evil deserves a sequel...not exactly an old game as compared to most of them here though. It really does deserve it, though.
Hmm...Homeworld deserved a proper sequel, as did Mechwarrior 2 (I really don't like the Microsoft-developed sequels). It would also have been nice to see a sequel to the Tribes series that wasn't as god-awful as Vengeance, despite its stellar single-player.
And why the hate for Unreal? I mean, I'll agree with anyone that says the art style in its latest incarnation is flat-out horrid, but the old-school twitch gameplay is still there...
moonstone should have a sequel
loved that game xD
howsabout we finally get duke nukem 4ever?!

There is one currently in production, check out the trailer they released back in May.

I'm still waiting on Mr. Braben to confirm 100% that Elite 4 is in production.
Also, I'd like Mr. Meir to stop wasting his time with the Civ games and get round to actually doing the sequel everyone wants which is the follow up to Alpha Centauri.

Baldur's Gate has a sequel, it's called Neverwinter Nights. :-)
Seriously, though, the story of BG was concluded in Throne of Bhaal. Nothing more to tell there. Any sequel would take new protagonists into the same world, which is sort of what Neverwinter Nights (1+2) did.
Aside from bringing back isometric perspective and hand-drawn art (don't hold your breath), I don't see how BG could get a sequel. Sure, Bioware could make another D&D RPG and call it Baldur's Gate 3, but what's the point?
Knights of the Old Republic 3, on the other hand... Yeah, sign me up for another installment.
