It's been a year since the last GOG Interplay release, Subwar 2050. I hope we won't have to wait much longer for a new Interplay release.

It was my understanding that Freespace was a spiritual sequel to Descent and in some territories actually had Descent in the title.

This should be the exact same thing as the Freespace on GOG.

This is just the first Freespace, iIRC, it was meant as a sequel to the Descent series hence the Descent title. If you look at the manual for Freespace 1 it will show you that same title.

I'm an idiot and I knew this.

In fact I still have the box of the original and it says in very pretty writing "Descent Freespace".

On a serious note I have it on good authority that the Thursday release here is going to be the sequel to "Blade of Darkness" entitled "Severance: Blade of Darkness". I for one can't wait! :D

Not all territories had the "Descent" name on the box. In most EU countries, it was called "Conflict: Freespace".
